"but oh, what a plot twist you were."

I SAT in my room, listening to my music. it's been almost a week since i've seen dally, and that's when i called him while i was crying. he sat there and comforted me, and it was pleasant. it was so nice, that i was a bit upset when that moment ended.
i then heard the door open. probably one of the guys, since it was a saturday. sodapop decided to go to work with steve today, so it obviously wasn't them, and darry was at work.
"hey, anybody home?" i heard someone say.
"coming!" i exclaimed from my room, turning off my music and walking out to the living room.
"hey second curtis, wanna hang out?" he said in a calm voice.
i was a bit surprised that he wanted to hang out.
"sure, lemme get ready. it'll only take a second."
i put on some denim shorts, and tucked in a gray short sleeve. we left the house, and i said bye to ponyboy.
"so where we going?" i asked.
"you'll see sweetheart." he said, smirking.
"mkay then." i said, playfully rolling my eyes.

we finally made a stop, and it was near a lake. dally got out of the car, and grabbed a bunch of blankets. he laid them down on the grass.
"woah, so pretty!" i said, getting out of the car. he then pulled a mini cassette player, and played music. it was my favorite. i unintentionally danced to the music.
"does darry know im here?" i asked, worrying.
"don't worry, he knows." he said, smirking.
i nodded and turned back to the lake.
we stayed to watch the sunset, and it was beautiful. the colors shifted from pink to orange, and a vibrant red. i saw the colors get darker and darker. i saw stars and the moon come out. it was so beautiful, and breathtaking.
"what do ya think?" i asked dally, laying down next to him.
"it's somethin'." he said.
all i did was smirk at him, i swore i was seeing things.

his hair looked loose and soft, juxtaposing against his dark, mean eyes. even though he had dark eyes, it was like i could see golden flakes dancing in them. his smile gave a warm, but dangerous look.

"you okay?" he said, noticing me staring.
"oh nothing. you surprised me dal." i said to him.
"hm? how so, doll?" he asked.
"you portray this mean, tough look. but when you look deep into your eyes, you're warm and sweet. not everyone sees it, but i know it's there."
"go on." he said, amused and smirking.
"i thought you were just a rude greaser, without a heart, or feelings. but oh, what a plot twist you were."
"i'm flattered, hun." he said laughing. he pulled me closer and decided to wrap his arm around me. i never thought of dally as a cuddle-type of person, but it was sweet.
"so about that bet doll, you already lost?" he said abruptly. i had completely forgot about that, and to be honest i did lose. i obviously wouldn't say that to dallas though.
"hm, nope. don't know what you're talking about." i said, closing my eyes, drifting away into a state of sleep. i was on the edge of falling asleep, and i could feel dally move a little bit. he took off his jean jacket and laid it on top of me, then layering a blanket on top of both of us.
"well i think i did." he mumbled, just loud enough that i could hear, not that i said anything though. and that night i fell asleep with a smile.

~

i woke up in the middle of the night, seeing that dallas was asleep. i didn't want to wake him, so i just gazed at the stars. each one shined like scattered glitter that you could never get rid of.
"oh how amazing he is, his smile, his voice. so calming and soothing. i wish i could love him but, he's dally. he never would take that well. i just want to be called his girlfriend, even for a day. i think i love him." i whispered. inanimate objects were the only ones who listened to me without judging me, especially the sun and the stars.
i nuzzled my face back into dally's chest, and fell asleep, comforted by the warmth his body projected.

so this is love, huh?
