I REALLY do love dallas. i hope he feels the same.
school is an absolute hell hole, and i can't believe i haven't dropped out like sodapop yet. well, i haven't done it yet mainly because darry won't let me.

"jesus, what a day." ponyboy says, throwing his backpack on the couch, then heading into the kitchen. i sat on the couch and took a lollipop out of my bag. i just sat there, staring at the ceiling for a long time.

"what'ya lookin' at?" ponyboy said, walking over to me.

"the ceiling." i replied, in a monotonous voice.
he shook his head at me, then hesitated and said something.

"you should watch the sunset on the roof with johnny and me today. it's a better thing to look at." he suggested, sitting next to me.

"mhm." i shrugged, considering it. i might as well, what's the worst that could happen?

i climbed onto the roof, as johnny helped me up. ponyboy was already laying down and looking at the sunset.

"wow, way to help your sister not get killed getting up here." i grumbled. i could hear johnny slightly laugh, and so did ponyboy.

"sorry, lyd. come sit right here." he chuckled, and patted the spot next to him. we watched the sunset, which slowly faded. as the warm tones of the colors almost faded completely, dallas came out of no where.

"oh hey dal, what are ya doing here?" i asked, turning around to face him as he walked towards us.

ponyboy and johnny looked at each other, smirked, then left while saying they would give us privacy.

we sat there in awkward silence, staring at the soon emerging stars. neither of us knew what to say to each other, so i pulled out a lollipop and popped it in my mouth. dally looked at me, and chuckled.

"what? are you laughing at my lollipop, i swear to god dallas if you steal this one..." i said, jokingly. he laughed genuinely, and opened his mouth to say something.

"i love that you're obsessed with lollipops, it's like your an annoying five year old." he stated while smirking.

"hey! i like lollipops because of their taste, there's nothing else that can satisfy me." i said, crossing my arms.

"you're sweeter than candy." he mumbled, hoping that i wouldn't hear.

"what was that?" i ask, scooting closer to him.

"you're my candy."

"dallas you stupid bitch." i shook my head, then leaned it against his shoulder. after a while, we got down from the roof and went back inside the house.

i finally got to the place where i wanted to be, with dallas winston. i don't know how long this would last, but i hope longer than just a day or two. i really do like him, and i hope he feels the same way.

"what were you two doing alone?" two-bit hinted at us, always thinking about something dirty. i rolled my eyes.

"we were talking about how stupid you are." i teased, sticking my tongue out at him. he put his hand on his heart, acting as if he got shot by what i said. i rolled my eyes again, laughing at him.

i looked up at dal, staring at his face.
you are the reason that i'm still hanging on.
all i did was smile when i thought that, and before he could catch me, i looked back down. sodapop was looking at me, and smiled while winking subtly at me.

oh my god he saw that, i thought, mentally facepalming myself. well, it's sodapop. he has to know sooner or later, plus i don't mind if he knows.

dallas soon left to go to buck's place and sleep there. we all said our goodbyes as dally, steve, and two-bit left. johnny was sleeping over, because of his parents.

i headed towards my room and changed to sweatpants and a hoodie. i heard sodapop walk in exactly when i finished getting ready, thankfully.

"so, dallas huh?" he said, you could hear him smirking. i turned towards him.

"is it that obvious?" i whined, flopping my arms to my side. i groaned.

"apart from your staring, no not really." he joked. he sat down on the bed, and i laid down on my side.

"don't worry, i won't tell. now go to sleep kiddo." he said, rubbing my head. i said goodnight to him, and saw him get up to turnt he lights off and get back in bed.

today was pretty great, excluding school. i want it to be like this everyday. i thought i had finally reached the good in my life. turns out i was completely wrong.
