Logan looked to the anxious man seated next to him. He was, to say the least, romantically attracted to him. Virgil's hair tossed in messy obsodian black curls, wearing a bit too big sweatshirt, previously owned by Logan.

He glanced away from his boyfriend and towards the eggs and bacon sitting on his plate. A jar of crofters and a butter knife sat beside his plate as his parents talked joyfully from their seats.

He wasn't hungry.

Sure, he was transfixed by Virgil's unexpected handsomeness, but after what had happened last night? He couldn't focus.

Virgil had resembled the same symptoms when he first ran to their apartment, and had revealed he had powers. When Remus and Deceit had meddled with his mind.

But it was different too.

The way he clawed at his own skin. This wasnt a nightmare. Someone was most likely meddling in his head again.

But Remus' powers couldn't reach this far, could it?

"Logan!" Virgil nudged him, looking up at him through his purple eyes. "Mrs. Rose was trying to get ur attention."

"Oh, Honey, you don't have to call me Mrs. Rose! You can call me Mom," she cooed, voice smooth like a river.

Virgil's eyebrows raised in suprise, "Oh! Thank you.. Mom."

Logan laughed quietly at the exchange. "What did you want, Mom?"

Rose smiled, softly, placing a hand on her spouse's arm. "Well, I was wondering if you had met Virgil's parents yet, I'm sure they're lovely people!" She exclaimed.

Logan and Virgil exchanged quiet looks, ending with Virgil taking a deep breath. "I.. I haven't spoken to my parents since I was a kid." His voice dripped with hatred and loathing.

Logan wasn't sure if the anger Virgil felt was at himself or his parents.

"Ah, yes. From what I know, Virgil's parents aren't.. of the accepting kind. But, as you know, he has a younger brother, Thomas. Oh, and two uncles. I've met all three of them."

"And Pat," Virgil huffed, covering his face with his hand.

He would be wrong to say he wasn't at least surprised to see Patton listed as Virgil's family. But he had watched them blossom into a more father and son relationship, holding each other up.

"And Patton."

"Oh, Patton is just a doll," Sam said. They looked to Rose. "The short one with the round glasses? He's dating that princely one, right? Romaine?"

Logan reached under the table and held Virgil's hand. He listened to Virgil carry on the conversation as he slowly escaped, disappearing in his thoughts.

There was something on Virgil last night. Tied to him. That much he knew. Of course, he couldn't invade Virgil's privacy and look in his thoughts, which limited his ways of finding out what was going on.

He thought back, brain ticking back into the night and looking at the old memories tracing his steps.

"St-Strings, everywhere. Pulling me.
