TW: cursing, it gets a bit... strange, I guess? So tell me if there's anything I need to add.🖤💜🖤

Mx. Tol's POV:

I printed a smile on my face as Virgil walked out the door to his dear brother, Thomas. They both smiled as they greeted each other, waving towards me before driving away.

I sneered when they were far enough. This whole goody two-shoes act was annoying. And very distasteful.

I hummed a little when I walked back to my beautiful 'office'. There was nothing like it. A sort of... insanity filled the air.

"I've got no strings to hold me down. To make me fret, to make me frown."

A, some would say, crazed smile framed my face nicely. I love to show off my sharp, pearly whites.

"Hi-ho the merry-o, that's the only way to be. I want the world to know nothing ever worries me."

I felt calm amongst these white walls. Like my mind was truly at its normal state.

If only I had my straight jacket.

"I've got no strings, so I have fun. I'm not tied to anyone. They've all got strings, but you can see, there are no strings on me."

I remembered singing this song to Virgil when Diesel had first presented him to me. When he wanted to know Virgil's greatest fear.

My stomach panned with hunger with just the though of Virgil's fears. My God, they were delicious. Just as they were when he was younger.

I wonder how his friends taste.

I dialed Diesel's phone number into my phone. "Diesel speaking."

"Ah, hello, dear friend. It's nice to hear from you." I smirked as I heard him shuffle.

"Oh. Insanity, I love hearing from you too," he drawled through the phone. I could hear his bare fingers tapping on a wooden desk.

"Oh, c'mon, Diesel, I thought we were friends? Call me Aamon," I laughed through the phone, forcing friendliness.

"No, I don't suppose I will, Insanity."

"I just finished offering therapeutic reassurances to your 'son', Virgil—" I said sharply.  "—Deceit."

I could hear him breathe heavily through the phone. I believe he is disgusted when I say his name. Or Virgil's.

"Insanity, you have one job. Just report what you find."

"Oh, alright, since you refuse to have fun. I believe Virgil is catching on to what's going on."

"What."

I smiled slightly. Of course, it wasn't good for my mission if he found out, but I'll be damned if I didn't admit that it gave me some sort of joy to see Diesel in pain.

"You heard me."

"Shut up, and get your pointy teethed ass over here. Now."

"Sir, yes sir."

I smiled as I hung up. A low chuckle escaping my throat.

"I have no strings on me."

Do ya like it? It's short, I know, but you have a new character! WOOHOO! I've been trying to connect Insanity—Aamon—to Virgil and I did. It's a pretty simple connection from the last book, but I hope you noticed it! ILY💜🖤💜

Also the grasshopper definitely checked out those puppets...
