TW: Blood, Cuts, nightmares, bad memories, fluff (tell me if there is anything else!)
Virgil's POV:
I woke up to my nails scraping against my skin. Diesel was in my dreams again. His gloved fingers on my skin. It felt wrong.
I slid the covers off me, sliding against broken skin. Tiny drops of blood staining my sheets. It didn't matter. This was probably the 50th pair of sheets I'd ruin.
My breath was ragged, burning my throat. Tears slid down my cheeks as I grabbed my phone and sweatshirt. I couldn't sleep in my room.
Stepping into the hallway, I pulled my sweatshirt on. It stinged all my new cuts.
"Lo?"
The door opened. I stepped back. I felt bad for waking him. He'd only been asleep for an hour or so. He had always said we had an open door policy, that I could always come to him.
I still felt bad whenever I did.
"Nightmare?" He yawned, offering his hand so we could walk in together.
"Yeah."
"Cuts?"
I sighed as we sat down on the bed. "Yeah."
He pulled me close by my waist, tugging at my sweatshirt. He removed it carefully. Long streaks of red swollen skin ran down my arms over old ones.
"What happened, Star?"
I shrugged. We weren't in the safe place, therefore I didn't exactly have to talk about it yet. Not until we were there, that is.
"Star."
"It was Diesel... he was there and his hands were on my arms. And they were so tight and I wanted to get away and—"
He kissed my forehead. "It's okay, Star." He brushes his thumb under my eyes. "Don't cry, Star."
I didn't even realize I was crying. I could feel a wetness on my cheeks and see Logan's soft eyes.
"I'm sorry," I apologized.
"Virgil," he said sharply. He has been getting on me more about apologizing for things I couldn't control.
Ironic. That's the whole reason he's been stressing frequently. Focusing on things he can't control.
"Sorry."
He pulled me close, kissing the top of my nose. "It's okay. Are you tired? Do you think you can sleep?"
I shrugged loosely. It didn't matter if I could or couldn't. What mattered was that he slept well. I couldn't even remember a moment where we got a full night's rest.
I crawled under the covers, scooting closer to him. He drew his fingers through my hair, an act that was more comforting for him than me.
"Night, Lo."
"Goodnight, Star."

Patton's POV:
I yawned as my alarm went off. My bones clicked weirdly as I stretched. Flicking my covers off me, I smiled.
"It's Saturday!" I sang, opening my door and skipping to the kitchen. I needed to make my kiddos breakfast.
I sighed and pulled out a pan. I suppose eggs and bacon will do for today. Cracking the eggs and laying the bacon in the grease should at least wake up Roman.
"Why, hello, my prince!" I giggled as he kissed my cheek playfully and sat on the counter.
"Aww, if it isn't my knight in shinning armor," I said, turning back to the eggs and bacon.
"Whatcha makin'?" Roman asked, kicking his legs like an excited child.
I smiled. "Eggs and bacon!" We laughed a little before Logan and Virgil walked in.
"Good morning Patton and Roman," Logan muttered, rubbing his eyes tiredly. Virgil only waved, yawning as well.
"Kiddos, I though we talked about getting more sleep!" I flipped over the bacon while talking.
"Sorry."
"Virgil."
"Sorry."
I sighed. "That is a terrible habit, Kiddo. You don't need to apologize. I know it's not your fault."
Virgil only nodded. I wish we could break all those submissive habits that were built into him. It never seemed like it was getting better.
I noticed the long red marks on Virgil's arms. The nightmares must've came back.
"Nightmares?" I asked, facing the eggs.
"Yeah."
I turned to smile at him. "You're doing great, kiddo."
"Thanks, Pat."
I nodded, leaving the food to cook a bit more so I could get the Crofters out the fridge.
"Logan, would you like toast?"
"That would be appreciated."
"How about you, Virge? Any toast for you?"
"No thanks, Dad."
I smiled a little when I heard him call me dad, it seemed our relationship was getting better and better with each passing day.
I made everyone a plate, giving Logan the jar of Crofters.
"I was thinking today we could just jam out." I winked at Virgil.
"Dear Newton."
"I believe that is a fabulous idea, Padre! We could have a Disney day in," Roman exclaimed, stuffing eggs in his mouth.
Virgil only shrugged.
"That seems acceptable. After we finish eating I need to bandage Virgil's arms, but I will happily join you later." Logan spread his toast with Crofters.
"I could always sweeten the deal," I commented as I was making a cup of coffee. "It'd be brew-tiful."
Virgil snorted at my puns. Maybe today wouldn't be too bad.
