"Jeon, I demand an answer from you"

"Yeah? Well what the fuck do you wanna know? My whole life story? My deepest thoughts?" the brunet actually snapped, eyes basically blaring in metallic shines and the taller growled at the sudden rise in tension.

"What you are for a start" the teal haired inquired and the other hissed angrily.

"Are you that dense? I just said that my pride is after Yoongi" Jungkook spat out and the wolf looked at him in confusion, what the heck is a pride, if not a feeling someone has?

Upon noticing the look of knitted eyebrows, and a sullen face - the brunet sighed heavily.

"Wolves have packs, lions gather in prides" Jungkook groaned out in frustration, not understanding how someone could not know such a simple fact.

"Oh... wait, that means... and what are your business with my mate then?" the taller exclaimed in worry and the other rubbed his temples in exhaustion.

Was he really gonna tell this dense werewolf how his pride is fucked up?

"You wouldn't understand, especially not if you know nothing of lion-shifters and our world" the brunet commented shortly, looking away from the other who was staring at him with glowing red eyes, something which he was a bit intimidated by... but he'd never admit that.

"Please do tell, I'll be all ears - since I won't leave either way" the wolf pressed and the other leaned on the wall a bit more casually, going through the vital points in his head.

"Then don't interrupt me in the middle..."

Taehyung nodded a bit nonchalantly and Jeon Jungkook sighed heavily... why not?

He explained how he'd tried protecting his childhood friend for as long as possible, but everyone around him was trying to get a harsh grip on the small blond boy - wanting to exploit him.

The internship at that sports school was all just a facade to go to his pride's annual meeting...where they told him that he'd be forced to take Yoongi to them... but he couldn't.

How would he ever be able to do such a thing to the person he fancied?

However, his pride are the ones who decide and Jungkook had no choice left... some of the best fighters they had had managed to get a hold on Jimin and Hoseok, although they came for Yoongi.

And now two other people were forced into this big mess.

Taehyung tried to make sense of all this new information, but there was still something which he couldn't wrap his head around... "Why?" 

"What do you mean why?" the lion shifter questioned quizzically and the taller huffed irritatedly. 

"Why does your pride want my mate, why is that so important?" the taller huffed, as it didn't make any sense to him, he knew that his mate was amazing and all - but why would a pack of lions want a hold of him?

"He's a merman..." Jungkook stated as if that would clear everything up... 

"Well yeah, I know that, but why?" the wolf exclaimed in frustration, hands clenching and unclenching continuously by his sides. 

"You wolves really don't get any lectures about other species do you?" the lion practically chuckled out, his demeanor beaming overzealous with satisfaction. 

"No, do you?" Taehyung muttered, although he could already guess the answer to his question. 

"Obviously"

"Okay then mister I know everything, please explain why Yoongi is so important to your pride" the teal haired male ushered the other for an answer, since he'd rather just get the conversation over with and help his friends. 

"A mermaid's or merman's tail, if they're taken and dried properly - can be used for amazing healing properties... we learned this at the age of three... idiot" the lion scoffed, arms crossed over his puffed out chest while he tried to stare the other down. 

"Wait what?! You're saying that your stupid lion pack is trying to steal Yoongi's fishtail?" Taehyung had to make a double take at those words and the other nodded, confirming the odd news.

"... pride...  but yeah, well not the whole thing, only the lower fin... but you get the gist off it" Jungkook hummed as he glanced in the direction of the bed where the merman in question was resting. 

"B-but he... he'd..."

"Die? Yeah, he would, hence why I've been trying to protect him, but lions could smell a fish from a mile away" the lion continued and Tae breathed in harshly at that, his hands shaking. 

"In that case wouldn't he actually be safer with my pack? We've got fighters and scouts on lookout every single day" the werewolf tried to argue, but he only received a mischievous expression in return. 

"You think we don't already know all about that?" Jungkook inquired with a large smirk on his lips and Tae had to grab a hold of the wall to physically restrain himself from punching that stupid face. 

"Cocky bastard, I'm his soulmate, you can't keep him from me Jeon" Taehyung growled and the other just shrugged casually. 

"I can, because my pride are currently holding Hoseok and Jimin captive are they not?" 

"I guess... so they're basically trying to make a trade, them for Yoongi?" Tae tried to make sense of that part of the situation and the other sighed thankfully. 

"Finally you're getting it - yes, they're not gonna let those lovebirds go before our little merman here is in their grip" 

"Fuck" Taehyung grumbled as he let his eyes settle on the floor in deep thought, not knowing what to do about anything...

"Yeah - fuck is an appropriate word for the situation" 

"Don't you have a plan? Something to get them out of there?" Taehyung questioned, his finger pointed at the damn lion, who shook his head no without a second thought. 

"I don't care about them - all I care about is if Yoongi is safe or not, I couldn't care less about those other two" 

"Excuse me?!" the taller shouted, eyes glowing even more now and the other chuckled at the sudden change in feelings. 

"You heard me meathead, I've known your mate for as long as I've been conscious of my lion, he's the only reason I haven't ripped anyone's throat out by now" the other said, letting his own eyes swirl in their goldish colour and Tae stared at him angrily. 

He remained quiet.

"I wouldn't expect you to realise - but I'm the only lion who's been able to go to a public school  such as this after the age of eleven" Jungkook stated, his voice hinting to a much deeper tone - his lion. 

"When your lion manifested..." Tae mumbled, trailing off, as it was about the same time he'd started merging with his wolf. 

"Yeah... because it becomes too hard to handle the anger that comes with it... do you know how it feels to just feel an inhuman need to just kill? The blond male lying on that bed is the only reason that those thoughts are kept to a minimum" 

Taehyung had nothing to say to that, how could he? Yoongi was his mate, he'd never let this bastard break them apart... yet this stupid fucking lion was also the only thing keeping him safe, just like his older brother had theorised... but he didn't want it to be true, because he wanted Yoongi back in his own arms. 

"I need to get Hobi and Jimin though... I know you only care for Yoongi, but he'd want them free" the wolf finally bit back, pushing through and finally getting to see his small mate again.
