It wasn't as if I'd listened in on their entire conversation... just a small portion of it... beginning when Tae arrived - okay so maybe I did hear the whole thing, but what was I gonna do? Just block them out when their whole topic included me of all things?

Which does bring another idea into my head... how could I never have caught Jungkook before? I've heard of lion shifters before this... but somehow it completely escaped my mind. One of my best friends was a supernatural being and the only reason he hadn't gone out on a massive killing-spree was because I calmed him down? I? The person who gets stressed over accidentally overlapping my shoelaces in the wrong order - somehow manages to calm down a fucking lion...

After their conversation quieted down, I heard how my mate pushed past my friend and as soon as he spotted me - our eyes locked on each other.

"H-hi" he greeted and I snorted at his awkward posture... "You were all brave and mighty just a second ago, what happened to that stamina?" I mumbled as I let my vision settle on my folded hands laying in my lap and he chuckle with a hint of nervousness. Out of the corner of my eye I could see him scratching the nape of his neck too.

"I-I, I mean... you make me blush so..."

"Assuming you heard everything just now, what do you wanna do Yoons? This idiot wolf here is already settled on saving the two lovebirds" Jungkook entered, his body leaned on the opposite wall of Taehyung, his arms folded in a haughty manner.

"Kook... you know how much Jiminie means to me... I can't leave him" I started and he rolled his eyes at my so called argument.

"He's just a human" the brunet tried reasoning... as if that would change anything about my decision.

"And a second ago I thought you were a human too, I still cherished you didn't I?" I bit back and he closed his mouth, before licking his lips to moisturise them...

After he'd stood there quiet for longer than what he presumably had planned to, he looked back at me with those shining eyes.

"That's not a fair comparison?" he competed childishly and I raised my brows at him questioningly.

"Really? I think its a very accurate way of describing it, just 'cause I know that you're a lion know doesn't mean I'll let your overstimulated pride be excused"

"Ha!" Taehyung yelled happily, his boxy grin directed at the brunet who just shot daggers at the other shifter.

"But I think we should save them - obviously" I stated and my teal haired mate seemed happy to have rightfully predicted my choice and I gave him a small smile, as if to show him that I of course would help him save them...

Jungkook would quite obviously not care as much about it, since he was friends with neither - or well, he was at least acquainted with Jimin, but not as much as me. Taehyung on the other hand had practically lost his brother.

We had a plan.

It wasn't good, nor very thought out... but it was something at the very least. Jungkook would pretend to take me into his pride's custody, making it seem like I was captured and then the two of us would, when we successfully infiltrated the place, snoop around and try to find our two love birds who were held captive... the only problem was the getting out again part of it.

Taehyung was very against the idea of Jungkook even being next to me, but I somehow managed to make him understand that it was essential if we wanted our beloved friends and platonic soulmates back... which did make him a little bit more reasonable then before.

The line was however drawn when Jungkook tried to urge me to then also leave Tae completely... as if he'd be able to sneak that part of the plan in without either of us noticing... both of us did... and neither was happy.

"Jungkook" I spoke sternly and he batted his eyelashes at me innocently, as of he had no idea why he'd be in a hot spot, yet my crossed arms didn't seem to be convincing enough.

"Kin Taehyung is mate, mate" I said, repeating the last word slower and clearer so that it wouldn't just fly by his ears.

"You know what that means Kookie, even though we might've known each other longer, the bond between mates are too strong too ignore" I stated, even though both of us understood that we already knew that from way beforehand.

"Fuck the moon goddess, she's a little shit, why does she have to ruin everything? She's not my goddess so why should I listen to what she has blessed that wolf fucker with?" my friend growled through strongly gritted teeth and I sighed heavily...

"She blessed me to didn't she?" I mumbled quietly, although both of them could most likely hear me with their supernatural abilities.

"That doesn't mean that you have to agree to it?" he tried, this time a bit more softer and I could see the swirls of emotions flow through his eyes, small droplets forming in his tear ducts .

"Kookie"

"Yoons"

"No"

//AN: I am so, so, SO sorry that I haven't updated this in forever, I just wanna wholeheartedly thank anyone who reads and votes on this book, it means A LOT!

The weirdest thing about me is that I actually do have a sort of ending planned out, I just can't find it in me to write anything regarding this story, I just don't find the merman trope that interesting any longer...

BUT - I will of course finish it either way, it might just take a while.
