N I N E T E E N - Halloween

[At the Halloween ball]

I could just curl up and hide in my room... I wanna go home, no I wanna disappear.

Yoongi hated himself with his entire being, why couldn't he just have a normal evening out? Everything had to come crashing down upon him eventually didn't it?

It had all started out just fine - his best friend, Hoseok and Tae had all walked into the large rented place together. All of the students immediately started whispering about how they looked so cool...

That part was actually really awesome.

The small merman was really happy at the start of the night. Taehyung was oddly close, but his presence brought a weird comfort and sort of tingling feeling, he enjoyed it.

But it was just a while later, after they had all come back from dancing their very first dance together — that Yoongi screwed up... he spilled punch on himself.

For any normal person this wouldn't be a problem...

The small boy had quickly rushed over to one of the larger tables, trying his very best to hide the shining fishtail appearing from underneath the top half of the costume.

Taehyung had obviously gotten very worried for his mate, so in pure chivalrous fashion - he had rushed over... only to see Yoongi, his mate, with a tail.

He shook his head as if the slick thing would disappear but alas it wouldn't, he followed it up to the smaller's face, noticeable glistening tears forming in the other's eyes.

"Please help me" Yoongi had mumbled out in pure agony as he tried covering himself more. Everyone else was out on the dance floor, including Jimin... but the short merman knew that he was screwed – another person now knew his secret.

"Please?" the merman pleaded as Tae was just standing still on the spot, not moving a single muscle... the taller's mind couldn't really comprehend the view in front of him.

"Wha-what is-" "Doesn't matter, just please get me out of here" Yoongi rambled quickly, wanting to get off the place as soon as possible, but the taller shook his head stubbornly.

"No, you need to tell me what is going on" he demanded an answer, to which the collected water in the other's eyes finally started falling. The salty droplets rolled down those pale yet rosy cheeks, as the boy stared at the werewolf with solemn eyes.

Taehyung's head then snapped — in the speed of lightning he fell o his knees beside his mate. The alpha dragged down one of the tablecloths to wrap around the fishtail before him. He tucked it in neatly - before he picked up the small male bridal style in his arms... he was heavy, the fishtail weighed a lot more than normal human legs did, even for an extremely strong supernatural creature like a shifter.

"I've got you, just hold on"

That was what happened before Yoongi crashed down in painful sobs, he hated himself for letting anyone find out. He couldn't stand his own stupid self.

"Yoongi... we need to clear this out" the taller mumbled from outside the bathroom door, he could easily hear the quiet sniffles of his mate... his entire body just wanted to comfort him, but the tiny male wouldn't let him in.

"I Kim Taehyung promise, with my whole being that whatever you are trying to keep safe will also be safe in my brain, I can assure you that... if it would make it any better, I could punch myself until I get a concussion and forget it afterwards" said person spoke softly and just a minute later, he heard the door unlock from the inside.

He took it as an invite and opened it into a small crack, shielding as much of what could be there in case someone would pass by. He slipped his heavily armored body inside and breathed out, sitting down on the floor tiredly.

The taller glanced over to the other discreetly, looking at his now completely bare pale legs.

"Yoongi... could you explain it to me?" Taehyung asked carefully, not wanting to startle the other boy who was crying into the sleeves of his costume.

"I-I-I'm so-sorry... " Yoongi sobbed out and Tae looked at him completely puzzled, why would he say sorry?

"Hey everything's okay, you've got nothing to be sorry about" the tan male stated in a caring voice, before unconsciously crawling closer to engulf the smaller male in his arms. The werewolf gave him warmth and the tingles made both of them visibly relax.

They sat like that for longer than both of them realised, until Yoongi brought his head up. His cheeks and eyes were puffy and read while his bottom lip was bruised from biting down on it too much.

"Tae-Tae I'm-I'm a me-mer... merma... "the small boy's voice was shaking and couldn't steady it himself, but the beginning of the word was more than enough for the other to finish the sentence.

"You're a merman, that's what you wanted to say?" Taehyung asked calmly, his deep voice almost making the other feel sleepy. The smaller nodded his head, once again laying it down and hiding in his arms.

"I won't tell anyone, not even Hoseok - Jimin knows right? I'd keep quiet even from him if I'd have to" the same soothing voice mumbled as he nuzzled his head into the other's hair... something which was a habit, which he couldn't get rid of from being a wolf – Yoongi didn't seem to mind though.

"Thank-thank you Tae-Tae" the short male whispered to which he gained a small hum in response.

[Twenty minutes later]

"You've gotta show me in more detail next time though, it looked so silky smooth" Taehyung conversed with his mate, who was now giggling through his swollen eyes.

"Shut-shut up... " Yoongi mumbled as he scratched the nape of his neck embarrassed.

"C-can you take me ho-home Taehyungie?" Yoongi asked quietly, not noticing the nickname passing his lips, but it caught the taller's attention and he smiled widely by it.

"Of course, my car is just outside, Hobi can go with Jimin" Taehyung stated as he picked up the smaller male in his arms once again, walking out of the bathroom.
