ROCCI (On Hold)

T W E N T Y F I V E - Interruption

The day had begun very happily indeed... but the small group of newly made friends were quick to notice a rumbling sound rushing towards them... something alike to the sound of a herd of hooves.

What on earth is that?

Everyone's suspicions were then replaced with the reality of abnormally large deer, galloping straight in their direction. Tall creatures, more of them than what would be considered normal for that type of forest animal.

"We need to get out of their path!" Namjoon's voice boomed above all else, his alpha tone making even the panicked grass eaters to momentarily stop - only to regain their senses a second later.

"Something must be hunting them" Yoongi thought to himself as he was quickly being led away from the thundering ground, to a small groove in the trees. The loud thuds never seemed to cease... until then, just out of the blue, it disappeared faster than it had arrived... did the thing hunting them get to them?

"Wha-what was that... Tae - do you know?" the merman questioned, his breath a bit jagged and he looked back to see the black wolf, now standing beside him as a human being again.

"I don't... but it can't have been good... most larger animals keep away from this land, as it is claimed by our pack... I don't know who'd ever dare to step a foot on it" he starts, rubbing his chin before he continued with "Unless they started hunting the deer beyond our border... but then the hunt would've been going on for ages" the taller explained, almost just spouting theories, but the other listened intensely nonetheless.

If he and Tae truly were mates, then he needed to know about these sort of things.

Because what if he'd be forced to take action and help out at some point?

"The others are safe, Jimin is with Hobi and my brother is almost by the pack house again" Tae stated, having linked in to check up on the split group and Yoongi nodded appreciatively... the werewolf knew he needed confirmation about his best friend... he really liked the way that the wolf could sense what he needed.

The two mates cautiously crawled out of their hiding spot, only for the teal haired to stop in his tracks. Noticing the tensed hand in his own - the smaller turned around to check what seemed to be the problem.

The only thing was - that Tae was sniffing the air, not once stopping... something was still there.

"We need to head back this instant" Yoongi heard the familiar, yet strangely deep, voice say... he hadn't heard the other speak in such a way before. It was obvious that it was an instinctual tone that the blond thought must only come out when the other was truly on high alert... those shining eyes also gave it away.

The creature that had hunted those panicked animals was still close.

The two of them safely reached the main building once again, only for the merman to wanna run straight back out again... because Jimin wasn't back yet.

His amazing, incredible best childhood friend, platonic soulmate... was still out there.

It didn't sit well with him at all.

Taehyung on the other hand, was a lot calmer - he had faith in his beta to be able to take care of both of them, especially because of the inseparable bond which they now shared. Hobi would do anything for Jimin - just like Tae would do anything for the boy who was now trashing around in his arms.

"Mate" a low purr came from the wolf's throat, but Yoongi didn't wanna pay it any mind, he wanted to save his best friend... even though he didn't know how or from what.

"Mate, listen to me" the same soothing voice whispered into the smaller's ear, giving the merman an undeniable chill running down his spine.

"Wh-what?" the blond squeaked out, adding embarrassment to his list of current feelings flooding his body.

"They're fine, Hobi says that they're safely waiting the creature out in a small dirt hole similar to ours" Taehyung explained and he could feel how the other physically relaxed in his grip. His mate turned around, sitting on his lap with a worried expression constantly gracing his otherwise soft features... Tae could then add his mate being stressed to the list of things he hate... Jungkook being another.

That bastard thinks he can be so close to my mate only because they're friends.

Tae didn't have the time nor energy to think about that stupid kid though, because he was rather preoccupied with taking care of the very male whom he had been fighting for.

"When they get back - and they will - then we'll summon a meeting to discuss what to do with this intruding creature okay Yoonie?" the taller asked, giving the other large puppy eyes and Yoongi couldn't help but to helplessly huff at the adorable sight.

"Yeah... I guess that sounds okay"

They hadn't made it back.

It was Monday and Jimin was still out there somewhere...

Yoongi would never admit it, but he'd been crying himself to sleep the last night, he'd been coerced into staying in the packhorse for the sake of his own safety... and he didn't really have anything against that... but Tae had obviously heard him, his pathetic wails, but the wolf understood that the shorter was afraid for his friend.

Jimin was a human after all... no matter what creature - all of them are in some way or another stronger, or better yet capable, against other supernatural beings than normal humans are.

The pack's council had by this point ruled it as an intrusion by another non human creature. It could be a shifter, but the possibilities were sadly enough endless... if they had a bit more intel on what they were dealing with - the pack would have a much easier time getting their lost members back...

Yoongi had been accepted to the meetings, all because Tae was the alpha's little brother... and he was truly glad that the older thought of them as a part of their clan now, he just hoped that them as newly made members would also get to experience it together.

He and Jimin had always experienced all of their firsts together... he didn't want that to stop just because of some stupid creature who stole his best friend.
