"Today's the day, guys." Lillie smirked, sitting at a table in the Suntouched Pokémon Center with Nora and Damian. "Today I get my first Gym Badge."

"I hope you have a strategy planned, Lillie." Damian advised. "I may have defeated Orion, but he's definitely a bit of a challenge. I'm one of the few who got lucky, as the majority of challengers have to try more than once to beat him."

"How many Pokémon are on his team, and what are they?" Lillie asked.

"He has four: Vulpix, Larvesta, Ivysaur and Fletchinder."

"Awesome!" Lillie smirked. "Then I do have a strategy. Toto should be able to handle Larvesta, Fletchinder and Vulpix, and Blossom can take care of Ivysaur."

"Also, Lillie, this is very important. Orion's Vulpix has an Ability called Drought, which creates sunny weather, and that boosts the power of Fire-type moves while decreasing the power of Water-type attacks. In addition, in sunny weather, the move Solar Beam doesn't require a turn to charge."

"And Solar Beam is a Grass-type attack." Lillie recalled. "It's a good thing I have some Potions on me."

"Definitely a good thing." Nora agreed.

"Well," Lillie stood up. "I'm off to the Gym. Can't keep Orion waiting!"

"Good luck, Lillie. Hope you win!"

"Thanks, Nora!"

With that, the blonde teenager left the Pokémon Center and stepped on the fan, which shot her up to the upper level of the city.

Looking around, Lillie spotted the Gym, and she made her way inside.

An hour had passed by the time Lillie defeated all the Gym Trainers. She made her way up the small stairs and found Orion standing next to a white rock.

"Good morning, Lillie!" Orion grinned at the sight of his childhood best friend. "I'm so happy to see you! Anyway, welcome to my Gym! I'm pretty good with Fire-types, and my Pokémon work together under the light of the sun!"

Lillie gave the orange haired boy a knowing look. "Was that a hint?"

"Sure was!" Orion grinned from ear to ear. "You ready to battle? I am when you are!"

"Let's do this!"

"Awesome!" Orion then turned to the white rock. "Wish me luck. With you by my side, I'm sure to win!"

"Huh?" Lillie raised an eyebrow.

"Oh, yeah, the rock." Orion turned back to the blonde teenager. "Everyone wants to know about the rock. It gets lonely, being a Gym Leader, so I have to make friends where I can."

"But we're friends, Orion. We go way back!"

"This rock is another one of my dearest friends." Orion explained. "Everyone in the city mocks me for it, but it's alive! I just know it!"

"Hey," Lillie put a comforting hand on the orange haired boy's shoulder. "I'd never mock you. Ever."

"Thank you so much, Lillie." Orion hugged his blonde haired friend again, but gentler than yesterday.

"You're welcome, Orion. Anytime."

"Well, enough of that." Orion said as he separated from Lillie. "Let's get started!"

"You're on!"

The two teenagers descended the steps and took their positions on the field.

"Now, Lillie, we may be childhood friends, but I won't go easy on you!"
