"Hey, I didn't see you at breakfast," Josie told her older sister, entering their shared room.

"I'm too excited to eat. Happy birthday to us, isn't it a beautiful day for a party?" Lizzie said, cheerfully.

"You're cheerful?" Kaiden asked as he walked into their room.

"Little brother! Happy birthday!" Lizzie exclaimed, pulling him into a tight hug.

"Are you okay?" Kaiden turned to Josie, "Is she okay?"

"Why wouldn't I be? Mom's coming home, I had sex with Raf, my pores are practically invisible."

"Wait, what?"

"You had sex with..." Josie trailed off, heartbroken.

"Last night. You know how Mom always says that things work out, in the end, the way they're supposed to? She's right. I wouldn't have time to represent the witches now with a boyfriend, so you getting the consolation prize is perfect," Lizzie stated.

"Woot, woot! Happy birthday, witches." Penelope said as she stood at the door.

"Oh, look. It's Satan in a crop top. Come to burn my world down?" Lizzie asked.

"Retro. Princess Di before she got style. I dig it," Penelope poked, making fun of Lizzie's outfit.

"What do you want?" Josie asked.

"Oh, just to cheer you three up. You know, 'cause your mom's not coming."

"What?" Kaiden asked. "What the hell do you mean mom's not coming home?"

"Oh, I heard them cancel her pickup at the office. I thought you knew. Oops."

"I'm going to-" Kaiden was cut off by Josie shutting the door in Penelope's face. "Let me at her, I'm going to strangle her with her stupid scarf."

"We have another problem," Dorian said as he walked into Alaric's office

"We have another problem," Dorian said as he walked into Alaric's office.

"What could it possibly be now?" Alaric asked. He already had his dead fiancé in his office, nothing could be worse than that.
