Kaiden was in a horrible mood, and being near Hope Mikaelson was not helping. In hindsight, this was all Raf's fault. Why did he have to go and befriend her? Couldn't he be normal like everyone else and just ignore her? Did he not realize Kaiden's fragile heart couldn't handle being near her right now?

Instead, he found himself stuck between Hope Mikaelson and Rafael Waithe. He had blocked out whatever conversation the two werewolves seemed to be having, but at the mention of Stefan, he visibly perked up.

"Jed told me you met your dad?" Rafael questioned.

Kaiden nodded, "We still don't know how he was brought back, but I have a few friends looking into it. My mom and sisters are looking at different angles while they're in Europe."

"You're hanging out with Jed again?" Hope questioned.

"Is that a problem?"

"Considering he tried to kill you, I would say yes."

"Considering you're not my girlfriend, I would say it's none of your business who I hang out with or don't."

Hope opened her mouth to reply but was stopped as a girl, brunette with curly hair, slim and tall, walked into the school barefoot.

"Cassie?" Rafael asked, shutting Hope and Kaiden up rather quickly.

"Raf," Cassie said, surprised.

"Cassie?" Hope asked.

"Isn't that your ..." Kaiden continued.

"My girlfriend," Rafael replied.

Rafael walked toward her and wrapped her in a hug. As the two hugged, both softly crying, Kaiden turned to look at Hope.  He noticed the girl's heartbroken face, "Hey, are you okay?" He softly asked.

"I'm fine," she lied.

"Hope-" he tried.

"Why do you care?" She snapped, "We're not dating you made your point very clear two minutes ago."

Kaiden watched as Hope walked away and he was left feeling like a jerk. Suddenly she faltered in her steps. She turned around, "I need your help."

"Okay," He whispered. Both of them walked back in the direction they came from, the tension still there between them.
