Rory somewhat manages to remember where Katherine resides. Though a big part of her screams to not go, to stay away from her immortal, older ancestor, there's also the logical part of her mind that says Katherine will probably be the only one that provides her with any true answers. Despite what others have said about her being a deceiver, she has, perhaps, been the only one to not lie in Rory's face.

I mean, sure, Katherine did compel Aunt Jenna to stab herself, and sure, Katherine did compel her to try and put a butter knife through her hand, but at the end of the day, Katherine took off Rory's rose-tinted glasses and exposed what her friends were doing to her—erasing her memories, lying to her, manipulating her, gaslighting her. It seems that the baddies they were protecting her from—Elijah included—was hellbent on keeping her protected in some screwed up way.

The leaves crunch underneath Rory's shoes as she makes her way towards the church ruins, remembering that Elena told Elijah Katherine was in the tomb beneath it. It's easy for her to spot knowing where the main place was and getting in was even simpler. The boulder that covers the entrance is already opened, and Rory had an inkling that someone was already here before her.

"Katherine?" Rory calls out with hesitancy. A rock under her shoe almost causes her to slip, but she grasps onto the wall clumsily.

"Careful, little me," a voice identical to hers, albeit a little raspier from underuse, calls out from inside the cave. Rory whips around, and she sees Katherine standing before her. She still wears the dress Rory remembers her in from the masquerade. It seems that Katherine had missed all the fun. Despite that, a smirk is painted on her lips, "To what do I owe the pleasure of your visitation, Rory?"

"I... I need some answers," Rory swallows as she stops in front of Katherine. She tilts her head in slight confusion, "Why have you been down here?"

Katherine lets out a small sigh, "History lesson for you: the Founding Families weren't overly fond of vampires. Vampires can come into the tomb, but they can't leave. Stefan and Damon trapped me in here," Katherine mutters petulantly as she sits across her younger doppelganger, "Lucky for you, I have nothing to do. I can't afford to ignore you."

Rory lets out a small breath of relief. It was stupid of her to come in here without any form of protection besides the pepper spray that resides in her bag. She sits on the ground in front of Katherine, wringing her hands nervously.

Katherine raises an eyebrow impatiently, "Well? What answers do you need?" she asks impatiently, "I'm surprised they haven't compelled your memories away already."

"They tried," Rory admits. Katherine raises an eyebrow, "But I took Elena's necklace—the one she always wears around her neck. This guy, Elijah, he ripped it off her and before I went home, I took it. Stefan tried to compel my memories away and I let him think that he did, but... well, you know the rest."
