Gathering what was left of Kol's body was a little difficult, Rory had to admit. There was a part of her that purposely wanted to make it difficult, mostly because she wasn't ready to let him go. Honestly, Rory was surprised that she was so torn up over Kol's death. Maybe she was closer to him than she originally thought, maybe the two of them knew something about being alienated by their siblings and never feeling good enough. Kol wasn't crazy, contrary to popular belief - he was lonely. He lashed out and he did things for attention and maybe Rory could relate to that, and maybe that was why they got along so well (or rather, didn't).

Standing over Wickery Bridge to scatter Kol's ashes was a little ironic. Here, she had lost most of her family. Her parents died here, and Elena did too. Kol wasn't her family, but he was someone special. Kol probably wouldn't appreciate the act of someone scattering his ashes in the wind - he would've probably made fun of something so stupid... but then again, Kol thought that he was never going to die.

"Bye, Kol," Rory whispered as she tipped the small vase over, watching as the wind carried his ashes away. Klaus stood beside her, resting his forearms over the edge of the bridge. Though he found the act a little mundane, he decided to be there for Rory. The fact that he, too, could say goodbye to his brother in his own way was an added bonus.

"Let's go back to the house," Klaus wrapped his jacket around Rory's shoulder despite knowing that the cold didn't affect any of them - they were both undead, but for some reason, goosebumps were still risen on Rory's arms. He had a feeling it wasn't from the cold. "You shouldn't stay here for too long."

Rory knew what he was referring to - besides the fact that Rory's parents and sister died here, it was that she almost died here as well. When Stefan tried to drive her off the bridge with a stake in her stomach, threatening to lock her in a vault and drop her to the bottom of the Quarry. Rory tightened her grip around the jacket on her shoulders, closing her eyes as she let out a quiet breath.

"Yeah," she ended up saying. "Let's just go."

She turned on her heel, prepared to walk to the other direction, but her phone began buzzing. She picked the device out of her pocket, seeing Caroline's name flash over the screen. She frowned in slight confusion, sliding to answer.

"Hello?" Rory inquired.

"Hi, Rory," there was a huge hesitancy in the way that Caroline spoke, as if she was unsure. Her eyes flickered up to look at Klaus. The hybrid seemed to take notice of the edge in her voice as well, which made him tense up. "Where are you?"

"Wickery Bridge. I just, um... scattered Kol's ashes. What is it?"

"Elena's home," Caroline responded.
