Part 43 ~ My Pillow Talk

Yibo couldn't sleep. He just couldn't sleep. He got used with a life hugging pillow now. He has tried hard to close his eyes to bring him to a deep slumber. He felt tired, he felt sleepy, but the sleep never want to drop his eyelids.

Finally he got up from the bed. He took his phone and checked the time. It was 2 AM. His mind flew to the man who scolded him yesterday night. He should not been sulked to the older just because he scolded him and stopped talking to him, even gave him his back when they're laid on the same bed.

He walked up to the door, slowly opened it, didn't want its creaking sound to wake Geraldyn up. He closed the door behind him carefully. Walked tiptoeing, he was halted by a sound of the door shut. It was from downstairs, the room next to Geraldyn's.

Yibo bent down, scanning the situation downstairs. There was no more sound and movement. So he climbed down the steps very carefully. After a journey that made his adrenaline jumping up and down of fear to get caught, finally he reached the bottom of staircase. He walked to the foyer and put on his shoes and twisted the doorknob. He looked around. No one lurking around outside in this wee hour makes it creating an eerie sound of the wind more obvious like spirits were howling about.

Yibo stepped his feet on the yard and half running he left the house, heading to the Dean's house. A black car was tailing him.

The distance between Geraldyn's house and Xiao Zhan wasn't too far. He could just walked up there about 30 minutes. By the way he ran from Geraldyn's, it was only took him 20 minutes to arrived.

He was halted at the gateway when he saw the light was brightly switched on, there were several  police's cars on the driveway, and a few people were busy walking around the house and the yard. They were the police. Yibo ran to the house with heart beat faster.

"What happened?" Yibo asked one of the officer.

"The intruder just broke into the house..!" The officer answered.

Yibo's lips were quivering. He ran into the house and found Xiao Zhan was talking to the detective.

"Zhan ge!" Yibo called the man's name. And he gasped when he saw a bandage on his right neck.

Xiao Zhan and Det. Luo turned to see Yibo who was rushingly walking toward them.

"Are you hurt?" Yibo touched Xiao Zhan's face.

"Not a big deal...!" Xiao zhan replied and held Yibo's hand and put it down.

"I.. I'm sorry. I shouldn't go..!" Yibo stuttered.

"It's not your fault. Don't worry. I'm fine," said Xiao Zhan.

"But you are hurt!" Cried Yibo.

"Only a small cut..! And what are you doing here? I remember I told Geraldyn to watch you to not go out alone especially in the night!" Xiao Zhan nagged.

"I'm not alone. There is a black car kept tailing me behind when I ran off..!" Yibo said.

"What black car?" Asked Xiao Zhan.

"I know they are your men. You are the one who need protection, see?" Yibo replied.

Xiao Zhan smiled. He grabbed Yibo by waist.

"Then I guess my mission is done for now, Mr. Xiao. I'll take off with my crew now..! Just set some of your men around your house until the situation back to normal. It's for your own safety..!" Said the detective.

"Oh! Ok, thank you, Detective...!" Xiao Zhan shook the detective's hand.

"I'll inform you if there is any progress on our search..!" Det. Luo smiled. Then he shouted to his men that they were has finished for the time being.
