Dear Journal,

So, Bartholomew was brought back today, and now I'm scared for the both of us.

Another doctor by the name of Dr. Heridew arrived here earlier, and he explained that it was him and his assistants that were tasked with studying and looking over the side effects of the surgery, and what he said spooked me.

George was scared by it as well.

Now, I don't know that much about brain anatomy, so I couldn't understand it all, but Dr Heridew said that Bartholomew's brain had shrunk in size when compared to other frogs on his species.

Also, a reaction that isn't supposed to be taking place in his brain is making all of those red spots pop up on him.

It was after that that I showed him the one spot I had, and I also told him about my hair loss.

What he said next was the most worrying of all.

He said that, in time, Bartholomew will regress to how he was before the surgery in terms of intelligence, and die.

That was all the information I needed to make me worry about myself as well. We both had the same surgery done, so the same's probably happening to me.

In fact, that red spot on my arm proves that it's already happening now.

Dr. Heridew also left his number for me or George to call if anything happens, and he also said that he'll have to make that fact known to the public.

I feel kind of empty now.

Bartholomew had more red spots on him when he was brought back, but it didn't seem like he was in pain.

So, it's over.

Who knows how long either of us have left now.

A part of me wants to talk to George about it, but the rest of me doesn't even want to look at him.

I guess it's time to finish that large pond for Bartholomew now, just so that he's happy.

-R.S.
