Tony hadn't had the chance to ask his daughter about her soulmates and to find that she had more than 3 and that they were superheros was shocking. He was angry at the way that the team was looking at her. Then his mind wandered to the others that are away on a mission. How will they react? And fucking capsicle he was one of them.
"Heyyy how about we have a little chat? Sound good? Yes yes it does." Tony began through gritted teeth with an almost sinister smile on his face. Causing the others in the room to watch nervously as he lost his normal cool demeanor and began to ramble under his breath.
"Evelyn how would you like to explore while I talk to your soulmates?" He said in a softer tone towards his daughter before shoving the avengers towards the conference room.

"Useless!" Ashley exclaimed striking her daughter across the face
"Mom I-" not another word could be uttered from Evelyn before she was struck again this time knocking her to her knees. Teary eyed she looked to her mother.
"You dare call me mom you vile girl." Ashley grasped the girl by her hair and began walking, completely ignoring the screams and pleas of her daughter.
"Miss please I didn't mean to! I won't do it again I promise!" Evelyn pleaded trying to reason with her fuming mother. Ashley pressed her foot to the girls chest as she began to sob louder, giving a forceful push sending Evelyn down the stairs ending with a sickening 'crack'. Ashley stood above Evelyn emotion wiped from her face.
"Promises aren't good enough. I have half a brain not to trust someone like yourself." Ashley said looking down at her daughter disgust forming on her face as she watched the pool of blood grow in size below Evelyn's head. "What a pity, I was fond of this flooring"

Evelyn sat in the hot sun, beating down on her bare skin consuming her in a dry heat that felt as though a fire had began to prickle her bare back. Evelyn glanced up at the sky eyes focusing in on the hot red looking sun before bringing her knees to her chest and tucking her head into them. Her mouth felt dry and her skin felt like ash. The dust clung to her skin and the air felt heavy as small bits of dust carried by the wind found their way into her lungs. The feeling of nausea began to kick in full tilt making it hard to move without I t intensifying.'This isn't a very fun vacation' she thought to herself. She had been waiting in this spot has instructed for 3 hours now unsure if her mother was coming back. The sound of cars not far in the distance, and Evelyn thought for a small moment, maybe just maybe she could finally...
"Evelyn! What a wonderful job you've done, mother is very proud!" Evelyn raised her head to the direction of the sound to find her mom standing not far off looking at her with a smile. Previous thoughts were lost as she began to beam 'mother is proud! I must be almost perfect!' "Evelyn" her tone darkened "why don't you get up now, you know I don't like waiting." Evelyn tripped over herself rushing to her mothers side.
"Good girl" Ashley said examining her daughter before saying "tch look at that, all burnt. That just won't do" Evelyn felt a slight pinch before the blood in her veins felt like sludge and her limbs and eyelids began to feel heavy as she was consumed by darkness.

Evelyn hadn't realized how hard she was punching the punching bag until the chain keeping the bag in place broke, as if it were made from a piece of straw, nor did she hear the sound of one of her soulmates calling out to her out of fear from watching her despair.
"Hey, hey it's okay" Steve said cradling her bruised and bloodied knuckles in his tender grasp. "please look at me. What's wrong?" He said on the verge of tears looking at the whirlpool of emotion swirling in his mates eyes that had tears freely flowing from them. Thinking he had doe something wrong, Steve began to pull back Being caught off guard when Evelyn suddenly lurched forward throwing her arms around his neck pulling him into a tight embrace.
"Don't leave!" she said almost panicked. "please" she whispered barely audible before breaking into sobs which slowly subsided as Steve held her gently, afraid she'd break if he wasn't.
