Jake's POV
"Leo, baby. Put down the gun, " eased Alex as he slowly approached his mate. I kept my eyes on Leo's and he kept his eyes on mine. "Jake, babe. Give me the gun, " calmed Derrick as he slowly reached for my gun. "I don't want to do this in front of him, King, " I gripped my gun gesturing to Alex. "Why are you in my house Beta?" Leo spat back. Before I could answer, Alex and Derrick both did the same military move taking our guns. Me and Leo were both in shock as our mates disarmed us. My shock didn't last long as I was gonna take my chance to attack. I lit unfire and snarled. I was set on my target when I was blasted with water putting my flameout. "Enough!" yelled Alex. I looked at him and saw him controlling water. Streamracer. "Both of you calm down and sit down!" he commanded.
I was resentful to follow the command as I started at Leo before I sat down opposite of him. Alex went back to measuring Derrick as I kept my glare on Leonardo. I hate all cats except for gem, my adopted sister. Alex and Leo were part of the Blood Claws and I didn't trust them. "You got a fucking problem Lunar, " snarled Leo breaking the silence. Lunar was a term used for those part of the Lunar Moon Gang. "You know what my fucking problem is Claw, " I barked back. Claw was like Lunar but for the Blood Claws. "No the hell I don't so please tell me, " Leo stood his tail lashing like he was gonna fight me. I knew I was gonna get another water blast to the face if I lit up again, so I didn't bother. I got up and walked towards the front door. "Call me when you're ready, Puppy, " I mumbled as I grabbed my jacket. Derrick just nodded with a slight smile.
He loved it when I called him puppy. Leo wasn't gonna let me go that easily. "Why do you hate Blood Claws so much, " he continued. I froze mid putting on my jacket and turned my head slightly so I could see Leo. "Not Blood Claws. Just you, " I responded popping my jacket. I needed to leave. I needed to get as far from Leonardo before I did something I would regret. Leo and I knew each other way before I was in the Lunar Moon Gang. I had to clear my head. Before I could reach for the doorknob, I was turned around and met with cold, pale, yellow eyes. "Why?!" Leo demanded. He didn't know when to stop, did he? Something inside me snapped. Something went off in my head. I heard a gunshot loud and clear ring in my ears. I pulled back my lip in a snarl, balled my fist, and swung.
My right hook connected perfectly with his jaw knocking him to the ground. "Because you're a selfish prick! That's why! You are nothing but a power-hungry, bloodthirsty, self-centered prick that cares about nothing but his role, " I snarled. Leo groaned as he lifted himself to his feet. "What. The. Hell did I do to you Lunar?!" he growled. I growled and clenched my fist tighter. "You killed my 5-year-old sister that's what you did Dickhead, " I shoved Leo with all my strength and more sending him tumbling to the ground. He looked at me with pure shock as he mumbled "The drive-by." Derrick was confused. "What happened between you two?" he questioned. I huffed never losing eye contact with Leo. "13 years ago. Blake, myself, and our 5-year-old sister were at the park."
(Flashback)
"We were having a good time." "Jake! Jake! Can you do this?" asked an energetic white female wolf pup as she doing a flip of the playset. "Her name was Summerdancer. Dad named her that after his mother." "I'll try!" a young Jake laughed copying her. They both did flips and jumps off the playset at the park. "I was 10. She was 5. Blake was 13." Blake wasn't far away flirting with a female fox and her friends while his little siblings played. "Come on Summer! Let's Samba, " encouraged Jake. "She loved to dance. Oh, how she loved to dance." Summerdancer laughed and didn't hesitate to join her big brother. "None of us saw the black car slowly driving pass." While Jake and Summer danced the Samba and Blake flirted, a black convertible was slowly driving by as one of the tented windows started to go down.
"We were dancing in front of Blake when it happened. I tossed her into the air for a finishing move and then..." Bang! While in the air Summerdancer was shot. Jake caught her lifeless body as it fell back to earth. "The bullet had hit her chest flawlessly killing her before she back down. Her beautiful white and grey fur was stained with blood." Jake panicked. He didn't know what to do so he called for his brother. "Blake! Blake! Something is wrong with Summer. She's bleeding and she's not moving." Blake pissed from being interrupted, ran over both scared and angry. "What did you do?! What happened?! You were supposed to watch her!" he yelled. Jake stayed silent as he looked at the blood that covered his hands.
Blake screamed pulling Jake from his trance. "This is your fault! She's dead and it's all your fault!" Jake looked away from his older but looked up in time to see the face of the leopard that held the gun that shot his sister. Jake was pissed. He would remember the face. "That day my brother beat the hell out of me for letting my sister die. I told them what I saw but no one believed me. I swore on her tomb I would never trust another cat. Ever. Because that one leopard turned my world upside down. My brother hated me and blamed me for my entire life. My only blood sister. Only being 5 but taught me every dance in the book was murdered."
(End of flashback)
I stared at my hands imagining the blood of my sister on them again as I closed them into fists and shut my eyes while growled. "All because of you!" I snared at Leo. Derrick started holding me back. "Jake. I-I didn't mean to kill your sister. I'm sorry, " he pleaded. Hearing a member of the Blood Claws say sorry never happens unless they truly deep mean it. I calmed down a bit and the snarl across my muzzle started to fade as I mumble "What?" He walked closer and lowered his head. "I'm sorry. For killing your sister and everything after. I didn't mean to hurt you. I deeply and truly mean it when I say I'm sorry. I really do hope that you can forgive Jake, and us start over, " he lifted his head slightly so he could make eye contact with me. "Please." I sighed and placed looked away. "Lunars are cold, but not heartless. I forgive you, Leonardo, " I smiled looking back at him. With a soft smile, he held out his hand.
"Temporary truce, Fleabag? " he purred. I looked at our mates then back at Leo and with a smile, I shook his hand. "I never thought I would ever hear you purr. Temporary truce, FishBreath, " I agreed. "I taught you well son. Good job, " I heard my dad whisper in my ear. "Don't be sad Jake. I will always be here for my favorite dance partner slash big brother," Summerdancer's voice cheered in my other ear making me smile. I was at peace knowing she was with Dad. Both looking after me.
