Jake's POV
"Big day and I'm terrified" I mumbled lightly to myself as I fumbled with my tie. Alex, Derrick's friend, had made our suits that matched our wedding theme. Derrick wanted anime and I wanted casual so we combined the two. Alex made me a navy blue suit with a light grey shirt along with a paperwhite standard tie along with gold cufflinks. Having got a fur cut and grooming the night before made me look "handsome" according to my mother and my mother-in-law. A small huff escaped my lips as I continued to struggle with my tie. Being raised in the hottest city to ever exist, I had become accustomed to not wearing a shirt and wearing only basketball shorts.
"Long time no see, Bone Breath," sounded a small sweet voice from behind me. "Good to see you're still kicking, Carrot Cruncher," I smirked turning around to see the white fur of a lost friend. Rising from my seat I wrapped my arms around Clover in a hug. "How you been clover?" I asked looking her over. She was wearing a fitted thunder grey dressed that outlined her toned figure. After high school, Clover decided to follow in her older brother's paw prints and became a soldier in arms. She enlisted in the Navy the first chance she had. Even though she seemed to be a fragile and gentle bunny, her temper and strength would shock you. "I've been good! My brother and I are competing for the role of Sargent in our sector. I'm not the only one doing good in life. Mister Bachelor for life is finally settling down," She giggled softly as she started to tie my tie for me. My snow-white tie seemed to melt and fuse with her dove white paws.
I chuckled as I let her fix the most important part of my suit. "Yeah, it's something about those big blue eyes that got me hooked," I confessed thanking her for the help. "Of course they do," Clover laughed lightly punching my arm like she did when we were small when I said something that entertained her imagination. I looked into her eyes and could tell she was imagining my mate's eyes shooting hooks at me and not letting go. Before I was able to say another word, my brother called my name letting me know that the reception was starting. Waving farewell to Clover, I left and joined the priest, groom's men, and Derrick's groom's men in front of what looked to be thousands of furs that were only just getting settled in their seats.
'I wonder what song Derrick choose to walk down the aisle to? What suit did Alex make him?' I thought as I took calming breaths. I had been in plenty of stressful situations, but nothing made my insides twist and turn more than now. I shook lightly letting the gentle breeze stir my fur and my father's words of reassurance float by my ears on the wind. I took one final breath as the theme song for season one of Tokyo Ghoul began to play.
Everyone rose to their feet and stood saluting like scout regiment soldiers from Attack On Titan.
I couldn't resist a small chuckle as I saw a small Izuku Midorya and Shoto Todoroki walking down the aisle tossing pink, white, and blue rose petals along a long red carpet. Lifting my eyes from the two children, my eyes met the most beautiful thing I've ever seen. Derrick was being given away by his mom wearing a wonderful admiral blue suit with a black shirt, light grey tie, with pure silver cufflinks. His pure white fur sparkling in the light of the sun making him look like the angel he was.
Stepping up on the pedestal taking my hand, Derrick smiled softly and something made me return to a day where life was stress-free and everything was worry-free. His eyes promised a life I wanted. I smiled softly and chuckled under my breath as Levi Ackerman stepped onto the podium with us. I couldn't believe Derrick managed to get the priest to dress up too. With a salute of his own everyone sat down and the music faded to silence. "Ladies and gentlemen, we have gathered here today to unite these two souls as one. Derrick Flame Mason and Jake Sparkjumper Lee Howlston," he spoke out. A brush of embarrassment stroked my cheeks as the priest said the second first name that my dad gave me. My tribe name. I was never ashamed of it, but it was kinda embarrassing to remember I never used it.
Derrick ran his padded thumb over the back of my hand easing my nerves as he smiled. oh that angelic smile. "I was told the both of you prepared your own vows," the preist commented looking between Derrick and myself. "Yes, that is correct and I'll be going first," Derrick replied his tail wagging slowly behind him. I playfully roll my eyes at him as the preist nodded. Taking a deep breath Derrick locked his eyes on mine. I immediately got lost in his big blue eyes focusing on him and him only. "Jake, honestly I never imagined being here right now standing in front of you, seeing so much love in your eyes. Love that is only for me. when I first met you and I saw those eyes all I could see was my end, but now those eyes are my glowing laterens guiding me through the darkness every hour of everyday. You showed me a side of me I never knew existed. You brought me to the light and I don't ever want to lose anything you have given me. I love you," Derrick finished his vows both of us on the verge of tears. Without the minister having to tell me I cleared my throat and took a deep breathe.
"Derrick, I know that no amount of words can even begin to tell you how much I wanted. No, needed you in my life. I grew up telling myself I was going to stay a bachelor my entire life. Never letting myself get tired down, but then I met you. The second I saw your snow white coat I thought an angel had came to watch over me. That's exactly what happened. You became my guardian angel leading me down a path of peace and love. My eyes landed on you and never left the ground. If anyone asked me what was your best feature I wouldn't be able to give them a single answer because everything about you is perfect. Your voice is like the singing of the heavens. It calms the beast in me that wants to answer everything with a fight. Your eyes are the water that puts out the burning fire of rage and hatred that blazes inside me when I look into them. Your touch warms me on the coldest of nights. You are my sun on the brightest of days and my moon on the calmest of nights. You are my north star. Glowing brightly in the night leading me home. You brought back a part of me that I thought was gone forever. Derrick, you filling a hole I didn't know I had in my heart and don't ever want to lose that," I ended my vows as I wiped the tears from his eyes as he smiled.
"Those were amazing vows. Both of you. Derrick, do you take Jake to be your lawfully wedded husband?" he asked. Derrick nodded softly as he said I do. Kid versions of Kirishima and Bokugou walked down the aisle with golden rings on a velvet pillow. "And do you Jake, take Derrick to be your lawfully wedded husband?" I nodded as I picked up Derrick's ring and he picked up mine. "With no objections, I now pronounce you husband and Husband! You may now kiss the groom," everyone stood, clapped, and took pictures as we slipped our rings onto each other's fingers and sealed our marriage with a kiss that we wished good last for eternity. Our lives were finally complete.
I'm literally crying why do I do these things to myself. My dog things there's something wrong with me. But this chapter will end off TWND3. I'm gonna take a break from this series because i have ran out of ideas but don't worry book four will return one day. I want to thank all of you for being there supporting me through all of my vanishing. the love of you guys dragging me back. I love you all. Shouts to everyone but that's too many people. if you follow me you know who you are. I love you all.
