" Na, na, na." I hum to myself while I make my way to my room, I've just gotten back from my activity and I feel like having a nap.Entering into my room, my eye immediately notices something laid on my bed. Leaning closer , I see that it is a note.
~ Something crazy. Meet me on the roof
C~A small grin forms on my face as I place my book on my bed. Not even thinking twice, I get out of there, getting ready for this ' something crazy '.
My eyes don't miss Connor sitting on the bench that we had sat on once upon a time, I stand in front of him with the note in hand. " Found your note."
" Good," he says before rising to his feet and grabs ahold of my hand, then walks with me to the center of the roof.
" So mind telling me what we're doing here?" I ask.
" You'll find out soon enough, close your eyes."
" What?" I frown at him.
" Really, close your eyes." I take a breath and then close my eyes.
" Alright my eyes are closed, now will you -"
" Shhh, just wait for it." He says in almost a whisper.
" What?" I whisper too now.
" Can you hear it?" He says.
Okay, he has gone way too coo koos now.
" What am I suppose to be hearing exactly?" I ask impatiently.
"This." Before I can ask him what in the world he's talking about, music starts playing from somewhere. Now that's not what makes me to open my eyes, it's the fact that my favourite song by the Beetles called ' Here Comes The Sun' is playing.
Wide eyed, I stare at a grinning Connor.
I spin around, searching with my eyes for the source of the music playing, and discover an ice cream truck below, parked on the opposite side of the street. A big smile breaks out when I look at Connor again.
"Oh my gosh, this is my song!" I squeal in excitement, before I sing along, making him to chuckle.
Closing my eyes, I let the music consume me and oh lord, I'm gone....
I don't care if I suck at dancing or that Connor is watching me. I'm too in the music to be bothered.
" Something crazy right?" I hear Connor say, which makes me to open my eyes and smile at him.
Walking close to him, I lightly punch him on the shoulder." You did this."
" I don't know what you're talking about." He plays innocent.
" Yeah right." I laugh.
Before I can get back to the song, he takes my hand in his. "Dance with me? " Looking into his eyes, I nod.
He pulls me close to him and places my arms around his shoulders while his hands touch my waist. I freeze for a second when I feel his hands on my waist but then I relax.
We start swaying to the song.
I'm so into the moment to take in the rain that has begun falling, this right now is such a movie moment. Moving my head away from his chest, I look up to him only to have his eyes lock with mine. We've now stopped dancing but are just standing in the rain.
1, 2, 3 minutes pass by with us just looking at each other, there's something about this moment, right here , right now I feel so out of control with my emotions, that if I weren't staring into his beautiful eyes, I'd run away.
Something shifts in his eyes, more like darken a bit, taking me a back by how beautiful they are. He pulls me a little closer and all I can do is swallow hard. Just then, water blocks my vision and the moment breaks.
" We should get out of here." I tell him while wiping at my eyes.
Before he can say anything, I pull back from him and start running ,dragging him along by hand.
We might have ran away from the rain and the moment that withheld something deep, but I do believe that more is yet to be uncovered between us.
It's like we know what we need from each other, we connect, deeper then what we both haven't gotten to understand, whatever it is, I know it's real and the more I get to know him, the more I urge the feeling of hope to overcome me, just like wanting to live again.
******
So here we are again, we are up at night in my room, I can't sleep and Connor volunteered to keep me company.
" Should I be worried?" I ask ,turning my head to look at him, sitting on the chair.
" About what?"
"You." I'm sure he's frowning right now.
We are basically sitting in the dark.
He doesn't say anything.
"That if I mention something, you will bring it to life?"
"Well if it serves the purpose, then yes, I'd do it over and over again."
" What purpose is that?"
He doesn't say anything and I frown at this, I mean the curiosity is eating at me, but I won't let him know that I want him to tell me so badly.
I've been so in my head that I almost squirm deep in my pillow when I feel him close, more like too close, I can feel his breath fan my face. Thank the heavens that it's dark so he can't see me all flustered by his closeness. He leans forward and before I can over think things, his breath tickles my ear.
"Goodnight," he says before moving away from me and an instant coldness takes over, from where he just occupied.
I watch his shadow head to the door and then he opens the door but doesn't get out." Thank you for today." I say.
He doesn't say anything and when he's about to step out I stop him." You never answered my question." I point out.
" I was waiting for you to say that." I can sense him smiling right now.
" I want to know." I press.
"Goodnight." He repeats before stepping out and I want to throw the pillow at him.
He just left me hanging, geez.
" Goodnight." I say finally.
I might not have gotten something from him but at least I can end the night, with a goodnight.
