The next morning I wake up to the sound of my alarm beeping in my ear. It's entirely way too early. Why did Sergio's family want to leave at the ass crack of dawn? It's only two hours away. I turned off my alarm before climbing out of bed. Glancing at the clock I realized I had enough time to shower.I turned on the hot water and waited for it to heat up before stripping down. My leg is even darker today but doesn't hurt as much as it has. Once my water was hot enough for my liking I climbed in and washed my hair and scrubbed my body before shaving everywhere as quick as I could. The hot water cascaded down my body helped ease my tense muscles and if I wasn't in a hurry I could easily stand in here until the hot water runs out but I don't have that kind of time.
I turned off the water and dried off as quickly as I could. Once I was out of the shower I brushed my teeth and put on deodorant before flicking the light off and padded into my room to get dressed. I slipped on a clean pair of underwear and a clean bra and then a pair of yoga capris and an old AC-DC shirt that I splattered with bleach. I slipped on a pair of no show socks and then my converse before unplugging my phone charger shoving it into my bag.
Walking down the stairs no light are on which means my family is still asleep so I scribble a quick note telling them bye before leaving.
"All ready Mamacita?" Sergio asks as he is standing outside as his family loads the rest of theirs bags into the back of their SUV. He took my bag before opening the trunk of his car and put my bag along with his into the trunk.
"Yep." I nodded after hugging and telling everyone hello. Hector and Christopher were arguing over a set of headphones. Felipe was reading the latest copy of Vogue magazine and Alejandro was watching ESPN reels from the basketball game last night.
"You two will take Sergio's car so you wont be crammed into the back with the luggage. I am glad you're coming mija." Rosa smiles gently at me before placing a loving kiss on my forehead.
"Me too." I offered her a small sleepy smile.
"You sleepy?" I could only nod answering Sergio's question. It is barley six thirty in the morning on a Saturday. Who is up this early on the weekend?
"We will follow you guys. I am going to stop at Starbucks and grab us some coffee." Sergio shoots me a toothy grin and I felt my heart leap as if it wanted to crawl through my chest to get to his.
"I am going to send you the address in case there is traffic. Love you guys be careful!" His mom hugs us both before climbing into their SUV.
Sergio and I got into his car, he reached into the backseat and pulled a blanket and pillow and handed them both to me.
"Get some rest baby." I laid my head on the pillow and watched him as he started to drive. The attentaive look on his face as he drove, the way his arm flexed as he flicked the blinker and turned his head to make sure he could switch lanes, just everything about this man is perfection.
"You're supposed to be sleeping Mamacita."
"I can't."
"It would help if you closed your eyes and weren't staring at me ya know?"
"Now where is the fun in that?" I beamed at him as he ordered my favorite drink at Starbucks, a Venti Iced Caramel Macchiato with extra caramel drizzle and an iced Americano for himself.
"Is that all?" The lady over the speaker chimed after she entered our drink orders.
"I'll take two slices of your pumpkin bread." How does he know that is my favorite?
"Very well I will have your total for you at the window." Sergio pulled around the side of the building.
He pays for our stuff and hands me my drink and a piece of bread before opening my straw and putting it into my drink for me, something so small and thoughtful.
