"Patterson are you sure you are up for the big game today? I don't want to risk you re-injuring yourself. You've got big scouts here looking at you, you all do. I know you have all accepted scholarships for the most part-" Coach started ranting and raving about me hurting myself again.

"Coach I am ready! You've been training me for the past week, I am ready! I swear." I tried my best to reassure him that I was actually ready for this. When I hurt my leg the last game I played I was sure I would never get to play the playoffs but here I am. I was more than ready for this. Scouts from Duke University were here. I was torn between choosing the full ride scholarship to Duke or the University of Florida. Both have such pristine soccer teams.

"Zoned out about colleges again there mamacita?" Sergio wrapped his arms around my waist placing his lips on the skin where my neck meets my shoulder. I've been stressed with worry about my future, about our future and what the means for us.

"Sergio you already got accepted to three different colleges, none of which are the schools I got into. What does that mean for us?" My mind was all over the place. Here I am with the most amazing guy and I feel like the world is trying to pull us apart. He got accepted into colleges on the opposite side of the United States. I love him more than life itself but how in the hell do we make that kind of distance work?

"Mamacita I have something to tell you-" He was interrupted by Coach yelling our names. Perhaps having this kind of conversation wasn't the best idea right before our last game, this biggest game of our season, of our high school careers.

"Gonzalez, Patterson get your asses over here we've got a game to play!" Coach smacked his hands together pulling out of our heavy topic.

We ran over to were our team was now forming a huddle swaying back and forth amping each other.

"Alright you guys this is it! This is the game you have trained your whole lives for and worked your asses off for. Go out there and play as a team, be ruthless but cautious, Don't hog the ball or let your ego get in the way! I don't want any mistakes out there! Make me proud! Hornets on my count...ONE! TWO! THREE!" We yelled Hornets and ran to the center of the field. The stadium was filled with every single seat filled on both sides of the stadium. Yelling from both sides could probably be heard for miles and miles around down. Thankfully we were on our home field.

The game started, each player out on that field bound and determined to get their feet on the ball, the need to win evident on every single player on the field. The first half of the game we were down 3-1. By half time Coach was yelling at us on the sidelines.

"Are you guys kidding me? You guys are playing like toddlers out there! Martinez, White stop competing with each other you are on the same damn team! Patterson I know this is your first game back so I am expecting more from you out there than this! Do you guys want to win? Is this something you want? You have to want it as a team! Now get back out there and make me proud!" After the buzzer sounded signalling the started of the second half of the game we ran back on that field anxious and eager to win. Shawn ran the ball right up the field and scored. A player from Pirates stole the ball doing a screw kick flinging the ball to his teammate who then kicked it but he missed. I took that as my chance to steal it running right up with center of the field.

I pulled my foot back kicking the wall and watched it swish inside of the net tying them game. The rest of the game was tooth and nail. They would score then we would score tying the game each time. It was the last twenty seconds of the game the score was 7-7, our ball. Rico ran up the left side of the field as two players from The Pirates came closing in on him, he passed the ball to Shawn who was almost bulldozed by another player from the other team. Shawn passed the ball to Sergio who ran up the right side of the field. The stadium was oddly quiet everyone afraid to make any sort of noise risking it effecting the game.

Three players circled around him but he was faster than any of them. He kicked the ball a little to the left before jumping to follow it. Sergio picked up his pace, pulling his left foot back using all the force he could muster he kicked that ball with all of his might. The ball flung into the net scoring us the winning point just as the buzzer went off. Both teams lined up clapping hands for a good close game before our team huddled up jumping up and down screaming with so much excitement it could make you go deaf.

"I knew you guys had it in you! You guys deserved it! How does it feel to be number one?" Coach yelled cheerfully with a bright smile on his face. This is the happiest that man has ever looked in all four of the years I have known him.

"We won! Can you believe it?" I squealed jumping into Sergio's arms. He spun me around not caring who was around us.

"Mamacita I've got to tell you something." Sergio sat me down on my feet. I felt my heart rate sky rocket. Hearing someone tell you they have to tell you something automatically makes your anxiety set in. Between the rush of the game and him telling me he had to tell me something my pulse was at an all time high.

"What? Oh my God you don't want to be with me anymore.." I automatically think the worst. The panic in my voice brings a smile to Sergio's face. This asshole thinks me being worried is funny?

"Lex no, that's not it." He shook his head scoffing in disbelief with a side ways smile appearing on his face. I crossed my arms over my chest waiting for him to continue.

"I got another acceptance letter in the mail..." He starts and then stops not finishing his sentence.

"And?" I asked slowly, my gut felt like it was doing flips inside of me. I was a wreck.

"I am going to Duke!"
