Chapter 42- A New Year Party

VanderVall Academy- Monday 1st January,2018 - 7.48pm

Kathryn walks down the school corridors wearing baby blue trousers that has a belt around the waist, the trousers sit at her belly button with a fluffy baby blue crop top and baby blue cocker around her neck. On her feet she had on blue heels and a blue crossbody bag on her shoulder while she held a baby blue leather jacket in hand . she taken the sides of her hair and pleated it around the back of her head and the rest of her hair is in curls. She sees her dad walking toward her in his grey trousers, blue shirt and grey waist coat.

"Where you off too?" Justin questions stopping in front of her seeing her dressed up

"Going to sit in the courtyard with the others and celebrate the new year" Kathryn tells him with a smile

"Be careful and don't stay out too late and don't get too drunk"Justin instructs her not wanting her to put in danger or ill. As much as he knew she was safe in the school he couldn't help but worry about her. 

"I'll try not too"Kathryn grins at him.

"Why don't i believe you" Justin squints his eyes at her

"Because i'm my father's daughter" Kathryn reminds him with a smile and it was true she was an awful like her father.

"That's what worries me" Justin shares with her as flashes of memories from when he was young pops into his head. 

"Thank you for everything you have done for me, taking me in the way you did and showing me the ropes around here. For Always having my back and saving me from life threatening positions" Kathryn reveals to him feeling grateful for all that he has done for her

"Feels like it should really be me thanking you for coming back into my life" Justin says to her

"You headed off to celebrate with Sarah?" Kathryn knudges him with her elbow

"I am"Justin nods his head to her

"Be careful, don't stay out too late and don't get too drunk" Kathryn jokes to him with a smirk on her face.

"I'll try not too" Justin repeats her words, Kathryn hugs her father smiling feeling happy because even though every day she continues to struggle with the loss of her mum and dad having Justin around reminds her that there is still love out there in the world. That there is still one parent out there in the world that loves her and cares for her. Kathryn and Justin stop hugging and walk in opposite directions from each other. Kathryn walks out to the courtyard and over to the water fountain where Alice, Danny , Dallas, Marly and Wilson are already sat there while Ella was walking over to them. As Kathryn walks over Zackery comes behind Kathryn and puts his arm over her shoulder. Thankfully the snow was gone and so was the cold bitter air meaning they didn't need blankets anymore.

"Hey you" Zackery says to her, Kathryn looks over and smiles at him

"Hey Z" Kathryn greets him with a smile

"Everyone looks like they are having a good time" Zackery points out to her and they look out to the group. 

"They do don't they" Kathryn agrees with him as she observes her friends

"And to think you brought us together" Zackery reminds her as they continue to walk over

"You give me more credit than i deserve" Kathryn says to him believing that even if she didn't show up at the school they would have eventually found their way back to one another. As the pair are joking to each other two boys approach them.
