VanderVall Academy- Thursday 14th December, 2018 - 12.13pm
English Class
Kathryn is sat in class beside Wilson Hartell with a pair of dark blue jeans, wooly slightly cropped brown jumper, brown trainers to match and her black backpack sat at her feet. Her hair was down and curly with some of it in a slight ponytail. She has her notebook open and pen in hand as the teacher speaks to the class.
"What is one piece of work you have recently read that you feel you can relate too?" Professor Marbella Cadwell asks the class, she looks around the class giving them around ten to fifteen minutes to come up with an answer. Kathryn keeps her head down looking at the table hoping the professor won't ask her what she choose.
"Kathryn, why don't you share" Professor Marbella Cadwell announces, Kathryn looks up and shakes her head not wanting to do it as all eyes look round at her
"I'm not feeling in the sharing kind of mood" Kathryn tells her shaking her head
"Miss VanderVall please share with the class" Professor M Cadwell instructs her. Kathryn takes a deep breath in and rolls her eyes
"The thing about pain,
Is it won't last forever,
And it kills you right now,
But with time it gets better,
The thing about scars,
Is they all start to fade,
Until nothing is left,
Of the cuts that were made,
The thing about today,
Is there's always tomorrow,
And if you can't find your smile,
I have one you can borrow,
The thing about help,
Is beside you it stands,
But it won't know it's needed,
Unless you reach out your hand,
The thing about love,
Is you can't feel it's touch,
Until you let someone know,
That this world is too much.
Ernest Hemingway" Kathryn shares with the class
"What made you pick that?" Professor M Cadwell asks her the curiosity filled on her face.
"Honestly, i have been through so much lately that it reminds me there is still life out there, that even though things feel tough at the minute there is always going to be someone around to help you out if you ask for it."Kathryn answers her
The class gets back to work and Professor M Cadwell walks over to Kathryn and leans over beside her.
"Have you considered talking to your dad about the way you feel" Professor M Cadwell asks her worried about her
"I have nothing to talk to him about" Kathryn answers her shaking her head confused
"Are you sure because it seems like you have been holding onto a lot of pain?" Professor M Cadwell says to her
"No, everything is fine but thank you for checking up on me" Kathryn shares with her giving a slight smile.
Professor M Cadwell goes back over to her desk and sits on her chair observing Kathryn, Kathryn can feel the professor watching her and every so often she looks up at her then back down at her work.
"You know people would understand if you weren't okay" Wilson leans over to Kathryn and whispers into her ear.
"Thanks Wilson but I'll be fine" Kathryn lies to him as she thinks about choking on the water because ever since her birthday each day Jesse seems to have found a way to torture the girls and in this case it meant every day it felt like Kathryn was drowning from the inside and there was nothing she could do about it. All she could do was wait for the moment to arrive and deal with it.
