Chapter 19- A Smile Hides A Thousand Words

VanderVall Academy - Monday 20th November,2017- 9.24am

Justin's Office-

Kathryn sits in her father's office after deciding to skip breakfast as the pain of losing her parents takes a toll on her. She sits on her father's chair while wearing a black mesh top that has a red flower pattern on both sides of the stomach with a black bralette on underneath with her black pair of skinny jeans that has red flower pattern down the left side of her leg. She turned the chair round so it was facing the window as her feet with her black flowery trainers rest on the window sill. With her hair ties up in a ponytail her blank emotionless expression became that much more clear on her face. She left her keys and phone on the desk when she walked into the room and ignores her phone calls from her friends. She continues to look out the window in the office as she watches the world go by as Justin walks into his office and sees her sitting there on his chair. 

"I went by your bedroom" Justin informs her as he walks over to her and he can't hide the concern on his face.

"I've been sitting here the past hour" Kathryn replies to him without glancing his way.

"I'd ask if your phone was broken but from the sound of the ringtone i can tell it's not" he initially jokes to her before realising she isn't in the mood "They're worried about you. They just want to know where you are and if you're okay" he walks over to his desk and leans on the table. 

"I'm not exactly in the mood to talk" Kathryn replies to him.

"How are you doing?" Justin asks her wanting for her to just open up about how she is feeling rather than keeping it in just like she always does. 

" I'm fine" Kathryn answers not taking her eyes off of the outside world.

"You walk to talk about it?" Justin offers her wanting to be there for her

"Talk about what? About the fact if i turned up at the house a little bit earlier i could have saved their lives... The fact that when Jesse found their bodies he went all vampire mode and wanted to drain me of my blood. Because yeah that made me feel great. Like a human blood bag just for him. How about the fact my parents died saving my life, they died trying to give me a message. How about the fact i had to watch my best friends bery my parents in the ground while i stood there covered in their blood... The only family i have left in my life is you and let's face the chances are i'm probably going to get you killed too... How about the fact that i don't even know if my boyfriend loves me anymore because most days he would rather be anywhere else than spend time with me" Kathryn snaps at her father not understanding how could think she was fine. 

"We will make it through this okay, I promise you" Justin assures her and he leans over the chair and kisses the top of her head. Kathryn takes her feet off the window sill, She turns the chair around and looks at him.

"Please, I beg of you just take away the pain. Take it all away" Kathryn begs him with a tear in her eye. Justin leans forward and takes a hold of her hand.

"I would love to take it all away but you need to go through all this grief so that you can heal" Justin replies to her shaking his head.

"I don't know how much more i can take" Kathryn reveals to him and she shrugs her shoulder. 

"I got word this morning that Minister Isaac's wife is going to be coming this evening. That will hopefully take your mind of things and you also have the party committee along with your classes and training" Justin reminds her
