Chapter 58- Sacrifices Must Be Made

VanderVall Academy - Saturday 31st March

Great Hall- 9.48am

Kathryn is sat in the great hall sat beside Danny and Zackery sits in front of them and Kayleigh and Dallas are sat only two chairs down from them joining conversation from time to time. Kathryn has her hair in a messy bun while wearing a deep red jumpsuit on and sandals on her feet having thrown something light on when she woke up as soon enough she will be climbing out of it and into her ball dress.

"I don't get why it takes Ella and Alice so long to get ready" Danny pipes up rolling his eyes at the thought

"It's easily done" Kathryn replies to him knowing how long it can take

"Exactly, between showering, face masks to make your skin all silky smooth, blow drying your hair, to then curl, straighten or do an updo and apply make up along with drinks and girl chats. It takes forever" Kayleigh answers him having known from experience with her girl friends.

As kathryn is looking at Kayleigh and agreeing Dallas puts his arm on Kayleigh's shoulder and has his arm dangling to which Kathryn looks away.

"I just want a drama free Ball this time" Kathryn pipes up thinking back to the reveal of Jesse being the cause of her parents being dead and the killer of Professor Thornton.

"Knowing this school i highly doubt that will happen" Zackery laughs as there is always something going on somewhere.

Kathryn picks up her phone and sees messages from the girls "Hurry up and get to your room we need you" Ella orders her

"I am being summoned by the girls, I shall see you guys later" Kathryn says holding her phone and keys in her hand and gets up off her seat.

"Try not have too many pre-drinks" Danny advices her which makes her chuckle

"Don't worry Danny, i will make sure Alice makes it out my room in one piece" Kathryn laughs and begins to walk off. As she walks through the corridors Dallas catches up with her to have a talk with her.

"Why can't you just hate me" Dallas calls out to her which makes her stop in her tracks, she turns around and looks at him with her eyebrows raised

"The problem is Dallas, I should hate you for hurting me but i don't and i don't understand why. I can't seem to allow myself to hate you and it kills me because that is all i want. I want to be able to walk past you in the hall and glare at you and want to strangle you with my fists but i can't. Instead all i feel is sadness, I still feel hurt for what you did to me and that isn't going to go away because one day i decided to wake up and be fine" Kathryn yells at him in frustration

"I want you to hate me, I need you to hate me Kathryn" Dallas tells her thinking it would be easier this way

"Why? To make yourself feel better? Because i won't do that"Kathryn refuses shaking her head "I am happy you have found someone else, someone better than me. Someone purer than i am, i am happy with you but maybe you should spend your time focusing on her rather than trying to get me to hate you" Kathryn advices him and walks away from him not wanting to talk to him anymore.

Kathryn finally gets to her room and sees Ella sitting on her bed, Marly sitting on the floor in front of the mirror starting on her hair and Alice sitting at her makeup desk. All three of the girls in their pyjamas having rushed from their rooms to Kathryn's at eight this morning.

"I know that look what happened?" Ella asks straight away after seeing the face on Kathryn

"Ugh, Just Dallas and me arguing again" Kathryn answers and throws her phone and keys down on the bed.
