Chapter 56- Moving On And Letting Go

VanderVall Academy- Sunday 11th March

Corridors- 2.37pm

Kathryn is walking through the corridors with her Magic Lesson folder in hand on her way up to the library. She is wearing a red and black tartan skirt that has a zip down the black with a black sleeveless cropped top that ties around the neck and most of her back is out that has ties all the way down the front of it keeping her boobs from popping out of it. She has high black boxed heel ankle boots on her feet, her short hair is down in curls. When she got back to the Academy last night she headed straight to her room where she met her father there and didn't leave it until now wanting to keep her mind distracted from what is going on around her. As she is making her way through the corridor she spots a familiar face in the distance and her heart begins to sink as she realise who it was... It was Dallas and his new girl Kayleigh. Kathryn keeps her head up high and gives them both a smile as they get close.

"Kathryn" Dallas says with a smile on his face happy to see her back in school again. 

"Dallas" Kathryn replies with a returning smile

"You look different" Dallas points out looking at her hair change as if he spotted it instantly. 

"I needed to change things up, the long blonde hair wasn't doing it for me anymore"Kathryn shrugs her shoulders

"It's nice" Dallas compliments her which makes her smile the way she used to around him, Kathryn then looks at Kayleigh who is practically latched onto his arm

"Hi,I'm Kathryn" She introduces herself to her

"I'm Kayleigh, Dallas's new girl" Kayleigh introduces herself to him

"It's nice to meet you" kathryn says being pleasant and kind about it even though it was killing her on the inside.

"I've heard so much great things about you" Kayleigh informs her excited over the fact she is talking to her

"Thanks" She replies then looks at Dallas with a look of sadness in her eyes and smiles "I'm so happy for you" She lies trying not to break down on them "I'm really happy for you"

"Thank you" Dallas thanks her not taking it as a compliment as he can see the change in her eyes like he always does. Kathryn turns and looks at Kayleigh with a smile

"Don't let go of this guy, he's a good one once you get to know him" Kathryn advices her knowing she has to let go of whatever past her and Dallas had.

"Trust me i won't" Kayleigh assures her taking a hold of Dallas's hand to which he shrugs off hating being grabbed and touched by people he barely knows.

"See you around" Kathryn tells them both and looks at Dallas who has been looking at her in awe since she came over.

"See you around" Dallas repeats her words, Kathryn begins to walk by and both their shoulders brush against each other which sends goosebumps up their arms. Kathryn gasps quietly and the pair briefly look at each other then Kathryn looks back to the direction she is walking in and takes in a deep breath feeling like her first conversation with Dallas since they got back was a success.

"I can see why everyone around here seems to love her"

"Yeah she's pretty great" Dallas agrees with her as they walk away, he turns his head to watch Kathryn walk away in the distance, denying every part of him that wants to turn around and chase after her. Instead he tells himself no and wraps his arm around Kayleigh to remind himself that it is over with Kathryn.
