Chapter 9: Distress Call

"You may now, kiss the bride." General Hux says.

Nervous?

No, not at all!

You're being sarcastic again.

Yes, well-

He cuts off my thoughts as I feel his lips on mine, all of the employees on the Finalizer start clapping and cheering. Kylo and I still holding hands has the black ribbon keeps them together.
Our lips move in sync.
We finally part and turn to face the audience. I look around and see faces I haven't even seen before. They must have worked the night shift. I can't stop feeling Kylo's lips on mine. I already miss the warmth and security they make me feel.

"You will all now listen to (Y/n)'s commands, you will all call her Lady Ren." His voice booms, he doesn't have his mask on.

I can hear everyone's thoughts.

Ren looks handsome without his mask.

Why did Ren have to marry her?

I've worked here for years and he marries a girl he captured and as known for one month!

I feel sadness waft over me, of course, Kylo senses this, "Just a warning, we can hear your thoughts."

General Hux undoes the ribbon and everyone leaves the hall. "Well, congratulations, Lady Ren and Supreme Leader Ren."

"Thank you, General." I say smiling.

"Now, everyone will listen to you." Kylo says smiling, "But if they don't, you can threaten them with the Force."

"I can't do that." I say smiling.

"I know." He sighs, "I just want you to remember, there may be people here willing to hurt you."

"Why?"

"Because, you are my wife, a stranger, and now also in command." He says, "I don't want you to get hurt because you're married to me."

"Yes, but if someone does hurt me, I'll tell you." I say, "Shouldn't they be scared of you?"

"That won't affect some people." He sighs, "Some people here are fearless and ignorant."

"Hmm, sounds familiar." I say chuckling to myself.

"What did you say?" Kylo questions with his voice low.

"Nothing, Supreme Leader."

"I'm sorry to interrupt but." General Hux interrupts.

"What's wrong?" I ask turning to face him.

"I'm concerned about Lady Ren." He says, "What happens if something does happen?"

"Why are you concerned?" Kylo says snarling, "Nothing had will happen to her, and I'll make sure of it."

"Only make promises you can keep." General Hux says walking out of the room.

"I'm suspicious of him." Kylo says looking at me, "I think it's best if you don't engage with him by yourself."

"Why?" I question Kylo, what does he mean by that?

"I mean, Hux is being suspicious, ever since you came here." Kylo says, "You didn't know Hux until you came here."

"That's true."

"Just, be wary around him. I think something's wrong."

"Ask him." I say turning around to leave.

"What?" He says grabbing my arm.

"Ask him, ask him if there's something wrong." I say turning to face him, "That's the only way to find out, properly."

"But, (Y/n)." He says.

"You need to care for your employees, Supreme Leader." I shake his hand off and I leave the room. We started our marriage with an argument.

I walk off to our bedroom and I see General Hux walking out of it.

"General!" I exclaim smiling, we was about to turn right?

"Ah... Lady... Lady Ren!" He exclaims standing at attentions.

"Why were you in our quarters?" I question walking towards him.

"No reason, I was wondering if you too were in there,  I needed to speak with Ren." He explains, he's clearly lying. I think he as my lightsaber. I didn't bring it to the wedding.

"Oh, Kylo is back in the hall, if you still want to see him." I say, sarcasm lacing my voice, I look at him, he knows I don't believe him.

"Oh, thank you, Lady Ren." He walks past me, I turn to face him and there it is, my lightsaber tucked in his belt.

He has my saber, I think we wants to do something to you, or us.

Yes, we'll I wanted to think you were wrong.

I walk behind him, anytime we would turn around I would find a place to hide. I see him walk towards the communications room.

"I have her lightsaber." Hux says to a computer.

"Now, just become her friend." A female voice on the computer says, "If you are successful you proved we can trust you. Then we will come and aid your distress call."

Leia?

I turn around the walk to my quarters, I get in and see Kylo sitting on the couch.

"And?" He says standing up and walking over to me.

"He still has my lightsaber, but he went to talked to someone in the communications room. He was told to become my friend and if we he successful they will resolve his distress call." I say looking up at Kylo.

"Distress call? This is more interesting than I thought..."
