The two stay like that for a while, Lucifer's arms wrapped around the draxon.

Keeping his head resting against the devil's chest, Nyx murmurs, "Luci?"

"What is it?" Lucifer replies softly.

Nyx hesitates, glancing up at the man before looking away again. "Why don't you throw me out? After everything I've done since I escaped, everything you think of me, why are you keeping me here with you?"

Lucifer smiles ruefully. "Well, because you're right," he whispers. "I did nothing back then and for that I'm so sorry. I didn't listen and because of that, you... What you're doing, killing the demons, is justified and hearing what you said before, I agree with what you're doing. And I... I still love you, Nyxeus. I never stopped loving you, and I never will."

"I love you too, Luci," Nyx whispers. He looks up at the devil, a deep fear lurking in his eyes. "I don't know what's wrong with me, but I... It feels so good, Luci, making them scream, even innocent humans. I would want to see blood and deliver so much pain to everything around me. But right now, I can't picture doing that to innocents... Luci, what's wrong with me?"

Lucifer sighs. "I don't know, Nyx. I really don't... Come on, let's lie down in bed; it's softer than the floor. The sheets have been changed since my last... you know."

Nyx growls softly, a scowl coming over his expression. "No more, Luci."

Lucifer nods, agreeing. "No more. Only you, love."

The devil helps the draxon to his feet, leading him to the bed. Nyx smells the sheets, deciding Lucifer was telling the truth before he buries under the covers, peeking out with a scowl when he hears Lucifer snicker softly.

"It's been a while since I've lain on something this soft," Nyx whines, curling up next to Lucifer, his head under the blankets and resting on the devil's chest.

Lucifer reaches down, fingers sinking into the draxon's hair and eliciting a soft moan of content from the man and a smile from the devil.

Nyx shifts a bit and the next second, Lucifer clenches his teeth and hisses as sharp pain blossoms over his heart. He panics for a second, going to lift the covers when the pain fades and is replaced by the feeling of Nyx's lips against his skin.

"You could have given a warning," Lucifer huffs, seeing the renewed mark on his skin over his heart, fingers brushing over it.

Nyx gives him a cruel smirk in return, a slight gleam of madness in his eyes. "Think of it as a small part of the payment for locking me in hell."

Lucifer sighs, but knows he deserves it. "Y'know, maybe you should see a therapist. Lucky for you, I know a great one."

"Doctor Linda?" Nyx's slightly muffled voice asks from under the blankets. "I paid her a visit before coming here. I also ran into Amenadiel."

"Amenadiel?" Lucifer asks, fingers gently combing through Nyx's hair and earning a low purring sound from the draxon. "I imagine that went well."

"Oh it did, love," Nyx replies. "We talked for a very short time. He never even noticed as I slipped into his mind."

"Nyxeus," Lucifer says with a sigh.

"What? It's just a little mind monitor. You never know when controlling an angel like him could be useful," Nyx mumbles, starting to sound tired. "Be glad. The only reason I don't kill him for trying to kill you is that I know you would be upset... Luci?"

"Yes love?"

"Why are we like this? If we were human, we would probably have never... reconciled. So why have we?"

"Well, we're not human," Lucifer replies, hand finding and cupping the draxon's cheek beneath the blankets. "And we live forever unless someone kills us. We could either hold grudges for eternity which would be incredibly exhausting, or we could try to move past those grudges. Now rest, you sound tired."

Nyx yawns in response, cuddling closer to the devil. "Luci?"

"Nyx."

"I love you."

Lucifer smiles, a familiar warmth filling his chest. "I love you too."

"Lucifer. Lucifer!"

Lucifer's eyes open slowly. He blinks, not having realized he fell asleep.

It takes a second to remember what happened, but when he does, Lucifer tenses, noticing the draxon is gone.

"Luci, we have a problem," Amenadiel says, standing next to Maze at the side of the bed.

"Can we talk about it later, I need to find someone," Lucifer says, getting up and heading towards the elevator.

"Lucifer, this is important," Goddess says, standing near the bar.

"Oh not you too," Lucifer says impatiently. He looks at the three others, seeing they're not going to let him leave. "Fine, what is it? And make it quick."

"Nyxeus has escaped hell," Maze says, watching the devil for his reaction.

"Well, is that all?" Lucifer replies, annoyed.

"You already knew," Amenadiel states.

"Of course I knew," Lucifer says. "He was here earlier. And he's been killing demons around here."

"Demons?" Goddess repeats. "In Los Angeles?"

"Yes, Mum, here is Los Angeles," Lucifer says, patience running out as he quickly explains the talk he and Nyx had. "Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to find him. Bastard could've left a note or something."

"You're not at all worried if he's here to kill you?" Maze asks disbelievingly.

"New info came to light, it wasn't him," Lucifer says. "If he thinks he gets those bloody demons all to himself, he's wrong."

"Luci," Amenadiel tries. "How can you know he's not lying?"

Lucifer pauses. "If you saw the look in his eyes when he realized he was choking me, you would have no doubt he's telling the truth."

At that moment, the devil's phone rings.

"You might want to answer that," Nyx's voice says as Lucifer goes to ignore the call from Chloe. "Your detective is already here. The face she made was great."

"Nyxeus," Maze growls as they notice Amenadiel's now orange eyes.

"Mazikeen," he replies through the angel's body. "You know, it's rude to talk about someone behind their back."

"Nyx, you said you wouldn't be possessing him," Lucifer says, arms crossed.

"No, I said he could be useful," Nyx replies. "Like now. I assumed he would come tell you I'm here, and since I was in a hurry and didn't tell you where I am, I'm doing it now, through him."

"Well tell me and leave him," Lucifer says. "This is too weird."

Nyx shrugs. "The other side of that park where the first demon was left. Come on, the view is lovely."

Amenadiel blinks, his eyes fading back to their normal brown, a sharp scowl coming to his face. He goes to say something, but Lucifer has already disappeared into the elevator.
