"Trust me, you won't have to." He smiles and runs out, I then sit down on the office chair. I take a break and start to read the files. As I scroll my eyes past every description, every sentence, every word, I stop myself. I confusingly re-read it all, making sure I'm not going crazy. I start to ask myself, who notes are these? As I try to find a solution to that answer, I hear a swift noise, like the ones you would hear after throwing something threw the air.
I roll my eyes while shaking my head, I continue to read and keep my focus sharp. I then hear him pull an office chair next to me. As the wheels roll, I start to get annoyed and tense. I then notice his arm from the corner of my eye, seeing his black formal shirt rolled up his arms. I slowly look up from the corner of my eyes seeing his gloves.
"I have questions to ask you." He slowly sighs and starts to go through the files I already read.
"Ask then, we don't have time." I look at him, and watch his expression stay still.
"First, why don't you help Leon and I leave this place." He shuffles a bit, to give me some space.
"Because...it isn't time."
"Time? For what?"
"I'll explain everything once we're done with this mess. Now continue with the other questions, I'm getting bored." I roll my eyes and keep reading, while giving my attention towards him.
"These notes...who do they belong to? I can't find a name--" He cuts me off, making me turn my head. Watching his lips move, with the unwanted words to come out.
"Annette Birkin." My mouth goes wide, letting my chin feel like it's going to fall off. I quickly turn to the files, then back to him. "Was she testing things on her daughter? No, of course not." I rub my chin and wait to think, until a light shines through my thoughts.
"Her parents were very protective of her, so I'm guessing by accident the G-virus was injected into her? Correct?" He shakes his head and snaps his vision towards the door way, he gets up and starts to leave, I then hold him back. "Wait--"
"I don't know! I don't have all the private answers to their life, I told you my answers and what I know. Now, let me go." I let him go, seeing his body disappear from the light. I turn back to the office, standing this time, letting my arms fall onto my chest. As I start going into my own thoughts, I hear footsteps, I turn to see Leon in one piece. I gladly release my breath and turn towards him, he walks up with a good expression.
"So, I unlocked most of the main bridge. Although we need to input a code into this pad, after the greenhouse should unlock. Come on, we need to hurry." I nod and follow him out the office, seeing lights dimly show our path. As we enter this weird place covered with plants, I watch Leon pull out something huge. I question this object until he fires it up, I watch as the monsters go up in flame. I jump back, and hold my heart, he then turns to me. "You alright?" I catch my breath.
"Yeah..yeah please just tell me next time when you get a new toy." He chuckles while looking at me, I then look over his shoulder and see a huge box. "Hey, look over there!" I run over and read the box, seeing weird symbols or characters on the label. I then lightly trace my finger tips on it, trying to understand what it could be.
"That's the code for the greenhouse." He points at it, as I back away.
"Okay, then let's get going--" I turn to face him, seeing both our faces inches apart. I didn't know he was standing the close to me. I feel his body heat surround half of my body, he looks at me, as I keep looking at him. I quickly shake my head and leave his side, I tuck hair behind my ear and awkwardly chuckle.
"Anyways...we should go." I say while turning around to the exit.
"Agreed." He quickly says, following my lead.
