"Gonzo how could you just walk out?!" Mandi asked running after her boyfriend with a test in her hand.
"Mandi, we can't do this. I can't do this. I don't want to be a father!" Gonzo said.
"So you're just gonna let me go through all this alone?! You promised you wouldn't ever let me go through what my own father went through!"
Gonzo sighed and gave her the last kiss, "You'll be okay." And walked out leaving the frog standing there alone, crying.
Mandi drove home not knowing what to do. She was scared to tell her dad that she's having a baby. She knew he was gonna flip in a bad way.
Mandi arrived home late at night and quietly walked into the house. She stood in the living room for what felt like forever, listening to the sound of Kermit's snoring.
"Good, he's asleep." She said to herself as she quietly began to walk up the stairs and into her room.
Mandi lied in bed wondering what was to come for her. She knew she couldn't do it alone. She felt her heart break as she cried herself to sleep.
The next day, Mandi woke up and felt her anxiety rise as she knew she had to tell her father. She rolled out of bed and walked downstairs to find Kermit sitting on the couch drinking his coffee and going through his phone.
"Morning dad.." Mandi said as she went to make herself a cup of coffee.
"Morning sweetie." Kermit said.
Mandi sighed, "Dad can we talk?"
"Of course Mandi. What's going on?" Kermit asked as he motioned her to sit next to him on the couch.
Mandi sat down and sighed, "Gonzo and I broke up."
"Wait what? Why? Y'all were really in love. What happened to cause that? What did he do?" He asked getting ready to break the weirdo's nose.
Mandi stopped him, "Look, something bad happened and well, we had to call it quits."
"Well, what happened?"
Mandi looked at her dad with fear written all over her face. Kermit noticed and gave her the look. The look where he demanded her to tell him.
"Dad, I don't know how to say this but I'm gonna have a baby...."
Kermit felt his jaw dropping, "Please tell me I did not hear what I think I heard."
Mandi nodded in embarrassment, "Dad, I'm pregnant. Gonzo left me cause I'm pregnant."
Kermit rubbed his face and groaned, "How in hell did that happen?"
"Dad, that's really personal to answer. I don't be asking your and mom's sexual life."
Kermit scrunched his face, "This is different Mandi. You're not even 20 years old yet and you're already having a child?!"
"You're acting like you didn't have a kid at a young age."
"Mandi I was 45!!!" Kermit exclaimed, "You're an actual teenager having a child!"
"Who cares!? I'm gonna be a single mother and I have no damn idea what I'm getting myself into!" Mandi said as she began to cry.
Kermit sighed and pulled her into a hug, "It's okay sweetie. I'm gonna help you go through all of this and help raise your kid. Trust Mandi, I know how it feels to raise a child on your own. Spent my whole life raising you on my own and it's such a painful experience being you're taking the role of both a mother and a father. But I'm not gonna let you go through all of that alone. I'm gonna help you like I always had."
"Thanks dad. Means a lot to me."
"Of course sweetie, just breaks my heart that you're trying to grow way too fast. Even if you're having a child, stay in school."
"I will dad." She said and hugged him, "So how does it feel to be a grandfather?"
Kermit scrunched up his face yet again, "I feel old."
Mandi laughed and hugged him once more, "Thanks dad."
He smiled and kissed her head, "You're welcome sweetie. I love you."
"I love you too."
