I stared at him and then started walking toward him. He looked scared. "Mickie, I can explain. I know that you want answers." He spoke quickly and stayed in the same place that I caught him. "You have no idea what I want. I don't want any more answers. I want blood." I pushed him against the hose rack and held him there. "Mickie calm down! Get off of me! I just want to talk!" he tried to push me away but I wasn't giving in. I was holding him there. "You're a lying cheating, leaving sack of shit! I honestly thought that you loved me!" I pushed him harder. "I know, I know. Please Mickie. I'm not here asking for you to get back together!" "Then why the hell are you even back here?! I was doing fine! Did you come to screw with my head again, because I will take yours off!" "Mickie, I'm sorry. I was an asshole and I was messed up. I still am messed up and you deserve so much better. Please just let go of me and listen for a minute." He touched my arm and I flinched.

I let go of him and he rolled up my sleeve. "Why is your arm bruised? It looks like hand prints." "Stop." I went to walk away and he touched my shoulder. I flinched again and jumped back. "What happened to you?" he pulled my shirt off of and looked at my shoulder. "Why are you bruised?" "You act so worried. I'm fine!" "Obviously something happened, and recently." "John and I got into it last night and he grabbed me when I tried to leave and shoved me against the wall." "Why were you with John?" "Because he was my boyfriend." "Wait, you dated John after I left?" "Yeah, isn't that funny. I can replace you as easily as you replaced me." "Why did you get back together with him?" "Because he picked up the pieces of me after you broke me." "I seriously would've thought that it would've been Kyle." "No because Ky wouldn't do this to me." I showed him my arm again.

"I'm sorry Mickie." "No, you're not! You're not sorry for anything! You don't give shit because if you did, everything that you said to me would've been true. You're just a a little boy who's scared of being alone. You're a little boy who runs away from things when he's scared. I might be a mess, but you're a mess yourself my dear. You're a mess of broken pieces and I hope that one day someone can love you enough that all those pieces will fit back together. And apparently that's more than I ever could." "Mickie, I came back to see my dad, and I was going to ask him about you." "Oh, I'm just great! I got bruised up by my ex and I had to jump out of a burning building but that's all before my ex-boyfriend showed up out of the freaking blue! If you came to see your dad, then why are you here?" "I miss this place. I just wanted to see it and see if my gear was still here." "No, it's not. It's long gone, like you should be. I'm done talking to you. I don't want to see you, I don't want to talk to you. I want you gone, from here, from New York, and from my head! Have a great life and remember this, you never leave your partner, especially in a fire!" I walked out.

I got home and my grandmother handed me a key. "What's this?" I asked looking at it nervously. "It's the key to your house. Well, your old one. Gavin got the keys and he gave you one. You can go in, look around and decided if there is anything that you want." "Okay. When am I allowed to go?" "Whenever you feel like it." "Okay, maybe I'll go tomorrow." "Do me a favor, with all the stuff your dad was in, don't go there alone." "Okay, I won't." I agreed. I went to sit down and heard the pager go off. "Hale county to Clarksville MVA car into a pole. Unknown injuries." "I'm gone!" I got up and ran to my truck.

I got to the station and Greg's truck was gone. It felt a sting in my gut, it felt like the day he left all over again. I ran inside and got a truck with Harry and Kyle. When we got to the scene I pulled out the tarp, got the blocks, and the tools. John showed up and I just ignored him and did my job. I know that that he'll be professional around everyone else, on the scenes, and at the station. I will be too, but it doesn't mean that I'm not still royally pissed off at him. I knew that Kyle would keep his cool the best he possibly could. Which honestly, he's great at it. We cut the battery, got the blocks under the car and waited for our next move. "Mickie, used the spreaders." Harry yelled to me. I grabbed the spreaders and walked over to the car. I got in the marks the rest of them made and then check around me. "Everyone clear!" I yelled and turned it on. I got the door off and Ky grabbed one side and Jet grabbed the other side. They brought it away from the car.

When we got in the car, we realized that it was a fatality. I pulled the girl out of the car. It was something you never want to see. Especially when she looked like she was my age or just a little younger. I just looked at her. I couldn't leave her. I stayed with until the coroner came. Then, I went to assist in the reenactment. "Are you okay?" Kyle asked. "Yeah, it's not the first time that I've seen a dead body." "I know, but that's not why I asked." "Oh really? Then, why did you ask?" "I heard that Greg came to visit the station and you were there." "How did you know that? It was just him and I there." I asked very confused. "I had went back and he was there. You had just left and he and I talked. He told him how you nearly killed him." "I would've too, if he hadn't grabbed my bruises." I looked up him.
