Chapter 17: Happiest Night Ever

SCARLET's POV

Nina and I were having fun choosing a beautiful dress for Alice. She looks so confused. It can be understandable being that I am human and Nina is a vampire. But when he comes to people tens or hundreds of years younger than her. All she wants to do is be all motherly with them. That is why she is so overprotective with me and this little Alice. She doesn't even look older than 17 years of age. 

She has to be 16 if she is in the adult area of the party. I didn't see her in last years ball or any of the parties so it is normal. I smiled as her face was left natural but with red lipstick and a little blush. Being that her lips are full and her smile is beautiful and white. So I did my best to not add any more make up being that she looks perfect like that. 

Nina had chosen so many different types of dresses. We had placed a pink one. Then white. Then red. Then black. None worked with her. Nina had tied her hair into a side ponytail with a black veil dangling from it. But then the veil was removed as it didn't match. 

Then I found the dark purple dress sleeveless and it had a cleavage area but it was covered with a see through piece of cloth. It is around the neck as well so it looks very beautiful. I smiled widely it had an opening for the left leg. Nina had been searching in my fake things. Being that I like to act as if I was someone different. 

She found my fake sword and we looked at each other and as we presented our find in the closet. She smiled and so did I. Nina had prepared her completely and she looks beautiful. The dress made her chest look big but she being young it was different. We were almost done preparing ourselves. I knew in some way why he did all this. He is trying to apologize for the things he has done.

I still haven't forgive him but I want to so badly. But I have to be strong. Mom is enjoying her own little party with a special man. As she and the butler had hit it off and Nina is taking care of her medications. Until she feels ready to becomes a vampire or would stay like that. It is her choice to make. But she seems to be very happy about it and all I could do was stand by. I looked around confusedly as the music got louder and it is something I haven't yet but Alice knows it well. 

It must be the new music I was hearing so much about from my mother. When we were all ready we headed towards the party as we all just stayed quiet to be attentive. Anybody can be in here and an attack can happen at any time. Being that all species has been invited tonight. But not even Sasuke's brother and mother is here. Sasuke's Dad had left to another territory for a gathering and family reunion. It was important for him so he had left like yesterday if I remember correctly. 

The moment we reached the party I smiled at all the humans around and all I wanted to do was welcome them all here. Children were always separated for their well being. Soldiers are still at work but Sasuke had told them they can rest if they needed to. But they are so loyal. I do see some soldiers enjoying their time with a few female vampires or humans. Drinks are all alcohol and some juice for those who do not want to drink alcohol. 

Kaito was waiting for us with his eldest son by his side. 'Awww young man is all handsome... But for who?' The moment both of them had spotted us Kaito's son blushed darkly and I knew who he was looking. I giggled as I looked at Alice who was looking around panicked. She looks so shy but she looks so beautiful. 

I nudged at her and we all walked down the stairs as all eyes were on us. I was dressed as an angel while Nina was dressed as the devil. Alice was a sexy assassin. She looks great maybe that is why so many eyes are on all three of us. The moment we reached the bottom of the stairs Kaito's son had bowed like the gentlemen he is. 

"Good Evening my name is Kaden and I will be your partner for this night..." he presented himself 

He sounded so elegant and so gentlemanly but Alice had spoke "My name is Alice it is very nice to meet you Kaden..." 

I smiled as Kaden had taken her to the dance floor "Come Scarlet... There is a spot for you so you can have fun..."

I smiled as Kaito knows me well and so does Sasuke. I smiled widely as Nina had walked away to the drink table inside the ballroom. Maybe even take a human male and drink a bit of his blood. If I remember correctly some humans let vampires suck their blood for a price. Some humans are not rich and some would want to do anything to get money. It's crazy but I can't say anything. 

It is their choice and it has been going on for decades. I yawned lightly as I just stop at my little spot where I can see everyone and save whoever I can or think they are doing something wrong. I hope kids haven't snuck out of their own little party. Or start a fight of their own. I still remember how Sasuke didn't want to dance with me when he was 8 and I was 7. 

If I remember correctly he didn't hang out with any humans at all and it was pretty adorable. Thinking back to that time it is still funny seeing how he has changed so much. From hating humans to enjoying their company. From ignoring the weak to assisting the weak. Still thinks he has to be scary and cold to show dominance. He looks completely adorable when he acts that way. 

A bright light shines on me and I covered my eyes as I felt confused. Did I stand in the wrong spot or something? Or did someone move the lights by accident? Maybe I should move from this spot. I removed my hands from my eyes as I looked straight. 

"Scarlet..." I heard my name being whispered

I turn around to see Sasuke walking towards me and I spoke lowly "Sasuke... What... How..."

The moment he stands in front of me he kneels down on one knee and he had held something in his fist "I apologize for how I turned out when the fight was over... I was stressed... I was worried... I felt protective and I lashed out with no reason..." 

"Sas..."

He interrupts me before I could even snap at him "I know I have been acting like a jerk as well but because I wanted to..." 

He stop in his words as he swallows. People around us started murmuring and I felt confused. I noticed Kaito and Nina smiling widely. I looked at Sasuke as he fumbled a bit with his hands. He looks so nervous. What is he doing? Is he proposing to me? Is he apologizing with me? What is he trying to do? My heart is racing at the sight of him in a proposing position and just fumbling nervously.

He shows me a big diamond ring. But the diamond is red so I am guessing it is a ruby. I felt shocked to the core as I saw him present it to me. I covered my mouth as tears streamed down. He IS proposing to me. I never expected him to do the proposal in such a crowded area. I expected it in a romantic place all alone and surrounded by nature. Or at a dinner date. Or something different. But never in a place with a crowd around us. 

"You are my Angel and the light that shines my path to happiness..." he comments and extends the ring a bit more and it only made the light shine on it but he continued speaking "Will you be my Queen... Forever and Eternity"

I looked at him and with a giant smile I screamed out "I DO!"

He smiles widely and he places the ring on my finger and we hugged each other with excitement. Maybe I will take my revenge on a prank later. I smiled widely as I held on to him tightly. He is such a sweetheart but hey at least he admitted that he has been acting like jerk. Am happy he apologize.
