Chapter 24: Final

Months had gone by as Guards were in double patrol being that Scarlet is pregnant. Everyone had sent gifts and are excited for the child. The doctor had confirmed that it will be a vampire. But being that the baby is all curled up he could not sense or see if it is a girl or a boy. I wouldn't even care if it was a girl or a boy. I will protect them equally. 

Kaito had stood there confused as he just stared down so I had walked to him. He looks completely worried about something. I slapped him behind the back and he jumped in panic. Defensive mode but it only made me laugh out. He sighs out but ends up laughing with me. I may have scared him but it is normal for us. If I scare him I would never find out when he will scare me. We prank each other and so the cycle goes on. 

"What is wrong my friend?" I asked him curiously 

He looks at the far distance and then spoke "I am having another child..." 

I slap him lightly this time and say "Congratulation my friend..."

"There is one problem..." he admits as he looks at his hands

"What my friend... You can tell me" I told him gently 

"The doctor fears she might not survive... Being that there are three" he says worriedly 

"You know she is strong... Just stay by her side... You know she loves children she would never kill those young ones and maybe she already has a plan and hasn't told you yet" I told him as I then look into the distance as well "Maybe... Just maybe... This is something for you and it may look bad but if you be positive and just accept this then something good will happen" 

He looks up to me and then forward to the human's land "Was it a good idea to seperate the humans and vampires?"

I sighed out and I looked forward "Of course it was... I am afraid that a vampire would want the throne and to gain the throne it will try and make some kind of hunters... Though Hunters do exist but for them it has never been easy to kill us... But imagine one of our kind helping them... I prefer that humans have less and less contact with us for their safety" 

I felt his eyes on me "I can understand... So you are thinking of training with me?"

I looked at my hands and it blurred a bit then went clear. This darkness inside of me needs to be controlled and I need to train. I will be a father soon and I barely have any training. I may be the King. I may be super strong. But I do need training. 

Humans are changing their ways of battle every decade. Kaito is good at mimicking their styles and use them in combat. I had decided to train. Learn new things just for incase. I wouldn't know if I get surrounded by so many. I need to even construct hidden passages for my lover and child just for incase. Make a hidden bunk for them with a hidden passage that leads to the house. I don't want them to get followed so I will make a map for her. 

Make it difficult for the person following her to get lost in there. There will be traps if the enemy goes the wrong way. But just for incase I will make bells for warning but only she will know. I will even make a maze for the children for if they have to go ahead and I want them to learn the patterns for themselves. I would teach them to defend themselves from the intruder. I sighed out and looked at Kaito who is awaiting for my answer. 

I bit my bottom lip but I finally answered "Yes... We have so much to do and I don't know how long it will take before a new enemy arises"

Kaito had glanced down then up to me and spoke "You are correct... I need to send spies to get the new fighting techniques human have know and maybe an update of weapons... Each decade is something new so we need to keep everything in check" 

I accepted it and just maintained silence between each other. We had looked back to the little town miles away from the castle. The witch had done a great job with the barrier and was able to teleport the castle deeper into the forest. Protecting everyone in here. We erased the humans memories about this place and had given them a home and two bags of gold. Four of silver. Eight copper. 

We needed to do what we could so nobody could get hurt and so we only have vampires in this home. Nothing more. Nothing less. The rest of the maids and butlers understood the reason for this and so they have kept the stories only between them and their offsprings. Father had approved of it and had gone to all clans and gave the new rules. 

Some clans did not agree to the new laws but they are coming this upcoming week to speak their minds. I am already rehearsing everything for that reunion. I did make the law with no explanation and only known by words. Not explained to anybody and not give them a chance to vote on it. There are like fifty clans and five of them being the powerful ones. But all I have to do is speak my mind and just give them the reason of the change.

I sighed out annoyed but I heard the quick steps and so I had to stand straight and turn around. I was waiting for paperwork because I need to keep signing them. But this maid looks panicked and in a hurry. I felt confused to why she is all panicked and tired. I felt panic arise from inside me as I felt completely worried.

"What? What is going on? What happened? Is something happened to Scarlet!?" I asked panicked Kaito had turned around in panic 

 She took deep breaths but the words she had chosen to let out made my heart stop "She's in labor!" 

My whole world came crashing down and all I expected the baby to come next month "The baby is coming? KNOW?"

The baby is coming!
