A year later
The photographs on her wall were the only reason she could be there without having felt homesick, not even for a second. Evelyn smiled as she started to take down the photographs. It was a dream she had made it to University of Toronto and a whole year had flown so fast. She was returning home that night and she couldn't wait to see her parents again.
She had made new friends and met some really wonderful teachers. This was truly an experience she had not expected to fall in love with, but here she was emotional to leave college but excited to go home.
She continued taking down her photographs, a million of which were of Bailee and her. Evelyn had flown to Massachusetts for winter break with her mother to visit Bailee. It was amazing to step into Harvard and know your best friend was there to stay till she got her Bachelor's degree.
The other photographs were of Evelyn when she was small with her parents.
There was one last photograph hung on the wall and Evelyn took it down smiling softly down at it. It was Levi Reed on it with her, couple days before she kissed him for the first time.
She sighed, sticking the photographs away in an envelope and then put them back in her suitcase. She had done a lot of thinking in the year she was there.
"God! I can't believe the year is over. Like where the hell did the time go?" Harley, one of Evelyn's roommates, walked in falling back on her bed dramatically.
"I know right?" Evelyn agreed while picking up her bed sheets.
Harley turned on her bed to look at Evelyn, she was always the curious type. "So where's the mystery girl gonna head next huh?"
Evelyn was folding her clean sheets looking over at Harley for a brief second before talking. "Um... well, I'm going back home, I thankfully have a job so I'll be going back to that."
"You're one lucky ass. My parents want me to come back here and keep learning."
"I would love that if I were you..." Evelyn admitted. "I mean your parents are paying for this... Take advantage and keep growing."
"Believe me my parents are so the type to make me pay them back after I graduate."
Evelyn laughed.
Harley sat up now. "What's that job you have again? I think you told me last time... can't remember."
"Starbucks."
"Oh right. You're that pretty Starbucks cashier chic with dollar bills coming at ya like rain." Harley remarked with her expressive green eyes flashing. "I'm jealous."
A light knock came at the door making the two girls look up and see Trenton Williams standing in the doorway smiling ear to ear. Harley shot Evelyn a look and Evelyn smiled at Trenton as Harley rose. "I'll leave you two alone."
"Thanks." Evelyn called to Harley as the girl passed Trenton.
Yes, Evelyn had met a new boy in college.
"Trenton, hey... what's up?" Evelyn said as the tall boy walked in and she placed her folded blankets in her suitcase. Trenton sat down on her bed and waited for Evelyn to sit next to him. He looked at her through those light brown eyes that won her heart since the first week college. He was the first guy to show her around campus and invited her to parties and since then the two were very close friends.
She had moved on... somewhat.
"I see you're packing up." Trenton said taking her hand watching Evelyn nod. "Yeah... I'm back home tonight."
