chp 20- I'm sorry for being late

chp-20 I'm sorry for being late.

All I heard was a loud bang. Nothing more nothing less. And then the eardrum tearing scream. I would have not believed that I produced that scream if it wasn't my throat that was feeling like I have swolled a burning coal.

Then, just after a second I heard one more loud bang, and something passed just beside my ear, making my hearing capacity nil.

Then not far away, I saw four mask man with the same black weapon in there hand pointing towards us, they were making their way towards us.

Then all the things that happened was in slow motion, Veera pulled me behind her and with two shot from her gun, the two men in front stopped in the track and then fell down on the ground.

I was alerted too soon of what was happening. They came here to harm me. It all was tarp, to make dad and Arav leave me alone, so he could easily target me.

"Veera," I called her from behind. She just turned a little to tell me she heard me ans again focused in front. The other two men who were not lying in their own blood, now were looking at us, doing nothing.

"Mobile,and charger" she said using our code language.

Mobile and charger means we will be attached behind each other, and the gun that's has been hidden behind her leather coat to be passed to her secretly.

And that's what I did, but we shouldn't have underestimated the two men, cause they got themselves pulled out of the situation and the next movement pointed the gun towards us.

"Girls, let's just keep it down. Don't resist, or restrain, and you can die without much pain."

"The hell with you! Who sent you?" Veera asked trying to distract them. I on the other hand tried to grab the another gun that was just on her back.

"Don't play games with us, girl. It won't make us fall. Now hands up."

"You don't command me, you asshat!" Till then I managed to grab the gun. Now it was waiting in my hand to be used.

"Don't kill us! What do you want, huh?" I asked while with other hand tapped veera to inform that I was ready

"We are not here to talk, you have already wasted our time. Now, just die in peace." The second man spoke for the first time.

My mind was now rolling in all directions, something we need something to inform Arav.

"Do you think you would be alive after you kill us? An undercover officer's wife and CBI officer?" Veera spoke and  took a step ahead. By judging the shaking hands of the men and the inexperienced way  they held their stand, it was confirmed that Mr. Khan had tricked some innocent but ready to kill type men.

"Who do you think will save you? Huh? The man who had sent you has been already dead." Veera continued taking steps towards them, with me in toe attached to her back. Veera was doing wonderful job of keeping them distracted and managing to induse fear in them.

Both of them for a second looked at each other, may be to communicate but at that very movement veera and I placed the gun on there forehead.

"So boys! Your game is over." I said and smiled. No, my hands were not shaking, cause it was for my husband, for my family, for my loved ones.

"Now, hands up!" Veera commanded in her thick voice and both the men obliged.

Just when i was going to say something, the front door opened and i heard the very familiar voice of my husband.

"Niya! Niya!"

"Arav!" I happily shouted and turned towards him. But in the same movement the gun was grabbed out of  my hand and a hand grabbed my throat.

" Karma, girl,karma!" The masked man said "Want this little girl to stay alive? Or should I...."

"Don't you dare, pig!" Arav warned and I saw my dad and Veer just beside him. Veera still have her gun pointed towards the second mask man.

"Let my men go!" The first man demanded clutching my throat more tight making it hard to breathe.

"See, the man, you work for is already been arrested. I know you have no personal reasons to do this. Let the girl go, and I won't harm you. Otherwise..."

"Otherwise what? Huh? What will you do? Are you..."

"Veera..."

Shot.

Shot.

I gasped loudly and what I saw was,
both the men were now lying down, but the two men were now in their blood mixed with each other.

"Niya...." Arav called and that's when I saw he was holding a gun that he probably used to kill the man.

I ran towards Arav and hugged him tight.

"Arav...Arav..." I spoke my voice muffled in his chest. He enclosed me in his arms pulling me more close to him.

"Shh..shhh... You are fine. Everything is fine Niya."

Suddenly a thought crossed my mind. " Arav, are you fine? He didn't do anything to you right? Dad? Dad," I searched him and I found he was just beside me " are you fine? You are not hurt? And veer..."

"Niya, sweety, every one is fine." And again pulling  me to him. "I just wanna know if you are fine. I'm ... I'm sorry, I'm sorry for being late."
