[Kid, Law, Ace, Sanji, Sabo, Zoro, Luffy, Smoker, Vivi, Nami, Robin Perona]
You had no qualms with being single, and you didn't think Valentine's was super sad because you were alone. Honestly, you thought people should quit wallowing in self pity, vying for attention. It was strange to knowingly make yourself miserable then complain about how miserable you are, blaming it on something other than yourself. It was just a culture based holiday, and culture's gotten pretty messed up. But there were good things about Valentine's Day. Cheap candy the few days after, $1 romance movies that were fun to poke fun at, good tips at the restaurant you worked at.
You got off at 10:00 and got home by 10:30, which was enough time to shower and get comfortable before the little Valentine's party began. It wasn't a loud-music, grind-up-on-strangers, one-night-stand type of party, but more of a group of single, planless friends getting together to relive being fifteen year olds at a sleepover party, except instead of staying up all night to watch horror movies and keeping a straight face to impress each other, it's to laugh at romance movies.
Kid is the most vocal about the movies, making fun about every other moment, but you can tell that at some points, he really gets into a movie or two, because he'll go quiet, and if you make a snide comment, he just hums in response instead of adding on. If he does say something about it, you could notice the little pitch change and slightly lower volume. He's definitely not a secret hopeless romantic or anything, but sometimes he just really likes the characters and their situation (not for its depth, but maybe it just reminded him of someone) and all they really had to do was just sit down and talk to each other instead of---oh. He's getting overworked about it again.
Law doesn't make as many comments as Kid, but you could tell if he wanted to, he could make just as many remarks from the small scoffs and the exhausted sighs. Despite all that, you'd think he'd be a little more annoyed by the foolishness of the movies, but he doesn't mind all that much. Mostly because he already deals with a plethora of idiots on a day to day basis, but that's besides the point. He doesn't get into movies in general (he'd much rather be working or doing something productive, having entertainment on in the background at most), and romance movies were no exception. He doesn't enjoy them, but he doesn't particularly hate them either.
Ace, unlike Kid, is a bit of a secret romantic. He's really into romance movies, not really caring about the logistics or realistics of the plot. He just really likes the idea of everything working itself out just fine and sweet relationships in any situation. Little apartments and minimum wage jobs? At least it's sharing an apartment with someone you love and bad jobs you could both complain about. He wanted the sweetness of cuddles and the surprising warmth of the little moments.
There were no secrets with Sanji. He just wanted a lady that would accept his undying love and affection. But, shockingly, he wasn't a fan of romance movies. They were boring, and that fine lady deserved far better than the haughty, ill-tempered man. She deserved someone who was gentlemanly and caring. Like him. So maybe he was just jealous... Nah, gentlemen don't get jealous.
Sabo enjoyed some of them. When it comes to trivial things like movies, he gets emotional easily. So he's not the biggest fan of sad ones, he always ends up a pouting mess with tears building up, hugging a pillow to his chest. But he loves the happier ones, physically incapable of not smiling. In general, he doesn't think too much about the logistics of movies, so he quite enjoys them, no matter how ridiculous some of the plots are.
Zoro got bored with anything that wasn't fighting or action. He would fall asleep within the first 2 minutes of a romance movie if he was alone (given, he could fall asleep within the first 2 minutes of almost anything). But he doesn't particularly dislike them. He thinks they're relatively pointless; there's hardly more than 2 general endings, and it's all the same interpretation of how romance was supposed to be, which was way too fictionalistic. Sarcastic comments are his specialty, and romance movies aren't safe.
Luffy doesn't have the capacity to sit down and watch a full length movie unless it's completely filled with action. It's not even that he gets bored, he would just rather be doing anything other than sitting still and doing something he doesn't have much interest in. If he has to, he'll end up in a hundred different sitting and laying positions on the couch in the same time it takes Zoro to fall asleep.
Smoker likes them. Just don't tell anyone if you find out, yeah? He thinks they're... cute. He's a bit of a sucker for romance. He just enjoys the happy endings and heartfelt moments. As a soldier, he sees some shit, so it's nice to have the soft reminders of the better parts of life.
Vivi's a huge fan. More of series over movies, but she loves the movies too. She prefers shows, since there's longer time to get attached and for drama to happen. In no way is she a drama queen, but maybe that's why she likes the movies and shows so much. A little bit of drama she doesn't have in her own life. Plus, she's a sucker for romance. She'd melt at the idea of being held in someone else's arms, wrapped in a blanket and eating popcorn.
Nami's not too big on romance in general. She's more of someone who would let it come to her, more of because she doesn't usually have an interest in it. So she can't exactly relate with most romance movies, and she's keen on pointing out any inconsistencies in movies. She won't get super emotional over a movie.
Robin quite enjoys watching some of them. Always intrigued by a good story, she enjoys the more realistic ones. But for the most part, she enjoys watching the obviously impractical, unbelievable misfortunes the characters encounter. She finds more amusement in most romances than sadness or the heart clenching feeling you were supposed to feel.
Perona likes the more niche ones. Those are the ones with the types of pairings she likes. But she didn't mind the other ones, but couldn't quite bring herself to enjoy them. She joined in on the sarcastic comments every once in a while, but usually only reacting with a roll of her eyes or a small huff. She didn't really get impatient about them, but she didn't like watching most of the usual character tropes.
