"You're trying to make me jealous. Stop it"
______
Your eyes dragged to the side as you ran past Zoro, pinned on him as you jumped on Sanji, wrapping your arms around his neck.
"(Y/N)-chan?" His face turned red and a dazed grin spread on his lips as he hugged you back.
"Everyone can use a little bit of love and appreciation, I feel like sometimes I shit on you a bit too much." With your chin tucked around his back, you caught a glimpse of Zoro's narrowing eyes.
Sanji faltered and took a step back, like your words alone hit him. After stabling himself from his minor stumble, he gushed about how you're too good to him, and so kind, and so beautiful, sounding like he was on the verge of tears.
Zoro flicked his head away from you and closed his eyes, a silent scoff at your little games, as if he didn't love these pseudo psychological battles you two had.
Because it'd been four days since then, a very aware two-way silent treatment war going on during them. During those four days, you were sure to cozy up to Sanji and distract yourself with others, pretending that not talking to Zoro did nothing. And, likewise, he pretended he was unscathed.
It'd been an hour since everyone finished dinner and you finished helping Sanji clean the dishes (while Zoro watched and clicked his tongue every minute, tending to his blades). Since then, you've kept in your room, lying on your bed and drawing in a flickering candlelight. Two sharp knocks echoed through your room, and then the sound of a rattling doorknob, the old thing shaking on its screws, nearly giving way.
"Hold on, hold on. Jeez, Zoro, you'll break the whole door if you keep that up," you grumbled, stepping out of your bed and stretching as you took your time walking to the door to unlock it. The moment you turned the lock, the knob twisted and you reflexively took a couple defensive steps back, saving you from the harsh swing open, but nothing could save the poor wall, sentenced to a world of pain at the flick of his wrist.
"Okay, okay, I get it. You're trying to make me jealous. Stop it."
You hummed questioningly, feigning an innocence you both knew was plastic. "I'm not trying to do anything, it seems like you've just gotten all jealous by yourself. Which, really, that just sounds like it's on you." You furrowed your brows and looked up at him with fake pity eyes, even pushing out your bottom lip in mocking.
If you looked close enough, you would've seen him hardly cover up his eye twitching, ever so slightly. Zoro snapped the door shut, door frame shaking in protest. He took two long and harsh strides towards you, already cornering you between your bed.
He brought his hand up, and for a split second, past experience had you wondering if he was going to hit you, but instead he cupped your cheek and kissed you gently, his spare left hand pulling you even closer by the small of your back. He pulled away, leaving you to instinctually try and push your lips back onto his, but he pulled your head into his chest.
He mumbled into your hair, a soft hum you had to strain to make out any words. "So what if I'm jealous, and maybe it is on me. Did I do something wrong? You gotta tell me. Was this some type of revenge game?"
Your heart melted. This big baby. Idiotic sweetheart. You wrapped your arms around him and held tight, nuzzling into his chest. "No, no, you've done nothing wrong. I love you. So, so much. Fuck, I'm sorry I hurt you like that. I'm yours."
"I knew that already, as if there's any way that lameass cook could overtake me. I just wanted an excuse to talk to you again," he said nonchalantly, voice raised back to normal.
You pulled away and flicked his forehead, staring up at him with unimpressed eyes, but you knew that was just his way. He couldn't straight up say "I'm sick of this game and I lose" without making it into some goof. He can't resolve things and lose, not in his books.
He smiled and flicked you right back. "DOn't give me that look. I missed you, you know." You narrowed your eyes. "I'm serious about that one!" he defended. "You know I can't go that long without you."
"As if it was any easier for me," you huffed. "But... I'm happy to be with you again like this."
"Yeah, (Y/N). So no more of your little game."
You scrunched your nose and offered a cheeky smile. "Right, right, no more games," you agreed, adding a "Sore loser" under your breath.
"Shut up and hug me, lameass," he grumbled, turning you two around and falling on his side on your bed with you just beside him. You cuddled up to him and took a deep breath, his arms wrapping back around you, and with them, his warmth. Yeah. This is right.
