Around five a.m on Friday morning, Kai stands in front of Seaview High School. He looks up at the big banner over the two front doors, the red brick walls, the empty parking lot. The morning sun is shining through the thin layer of fog and cars zoom pass the building. Today is the day Kai makes a change. It's the day that he is going to drive DeVitis out of this school and the day he demands order from the school board. Mrs. Brown ignoring the fact that one of the teachers raped a student is ridiculous. If Mr. DeVitis did this to Kai, then he won't hesitate to do it to someone else. It's time to take a stand. What better way to do so than a protest?
"So? Where do you want us?" Harrow asks from behind him. Kai had gathered his sister and a few of her friends to help him start this protest. He knows that if girls from the dance team run the school, then there's definitely hope that more people will follow.
"Let's start making signs." Kai leads them further towards the school. His goal of today is to gather most of the student body to protest against learning here at Seaview. There's no way he feels safe attending here until DeVitis is taken care of. And if he doesn't feel safe, than neither should other his classmates. "Make the letters big, and make them bold." Kai instructs as two girls from the dance team begin setting up a fold out table. "I want you all to tweet about the protest to start getting more people to help out."
"And what if no one comes?" Harrow pulls out her iPhone. "No one gets on Twitter this early."
"Then they'll be surprised when they get here." Kai responds, smoothing out the poster board down on the table. "No one goes inside until we win this."

Anna glances at the time on her digital clock on the radio in her brand new buggie car- 6:45. Her hands are on the steering wheel and the windows are down, letting the wind blow her red hair around as a Lana Del Rey song plays from the radio. She manages to smile at herself in her mirror, remembering what her parents told her to do.
"I can't believe you can drive now." Brooklyn gushes from the passenger seat, her own brown hair blowing off her face.
"Me either." Anna agrees, glancing at her smile again in her mirror. She told her parents about Luke's abuse and as much as they wanted to press charges, Anna declined. The last thing she wants to do is bring more attention to this issue. She also informed Brooklyn about things too not long after telling her parents. The more she talks about it, the more she comes to terms of what happened. She was a victim of domestic abuse. Brooklyn spent hours talking to her about how she didn't deserve what happened to her and how she should've came to her sooner but she clearly doesn't understand. Telling someone that her boyfriend beats her wasn't exactly the easiest thing to admit. Looking back on it now, Anna regrets not reaching out for help and she regrets sticking around to be with Luke. He didn't deserve her in the first place and if she could go back, she would.
"Whoa, what's going on?" Brooklyn asks after Anna parks her car in the school parking lot.
Anna gets out of her car, looking at the large group of students outside the front doors of the school. Some of them are chanting and others are holding signs in the air. A few teachers speak with a few students and none of them look too happy. Other students are scribbling letters down on poster boards at a table and Anna gets a glimpse of the words: No Jobs for the Wicked. "No jobs for the wicked?"
"I think it's a protest." Brooklyn studies the action. She points to a sign before reading it aloud. "Justice against abusers."
"What?" Anna whispers to herself as the girls continue through the parking lot towards the building. Her heart beats with excitement- for some weird reason. Why is she already on board with this whole thing? Maybe it's because there are people who are trying to get justice against people like Luke. But why?
"Hello ladies." Luke appears in front of Brooklyn and Anna, squinting through the sun.
Anna's stomach doesn't flip as much as it used to when she sees him. They go to the same school so of course she saw him every day after he did what he did. He didn't deserve to continue to walk the halls like he did and Anna hates herself for letting him. But, she has gotten somewhat used to the fact that he'll be here every day.
"Move." Brooklyn orders, holding her cane as if it's a weapon.
   "Chipper, aren't we?" Luke smirks.
Anna picks up a sign from the table and holds it in the air. "Justice against abusers!"
