~~~(Time After Time by The Wind and the Wave)~~~
   Israel hits the punching bag over and over again, his hands covered with red gloves. He spins around, kicking his leg up at the leather bag hanging from the ceiling. He continues to punch and punch, Emerson's trial going through his head over and over again. He hopes that the police and the investigation team will take his word for it. They better. Israel saw with his own eyes Emerson burn down the studio. There shouldn't be a question about it.
   Israel's Galaxy Edge rings from the wooden stairs leading up to the ground floor of the house. Israel pants for breath, looking down at his phone to see Skylar calling. Israel wipes sweat from his lip and puts the phone to his ear. "Skylar?"
   "Dude, you should get to the hospital." Skylar says on the other end, his voice full of worry and fear.
   "What's going on?" Israel asks, suddenly concerned about Case. He hasn't had many chances to hang out with Case lately because of this Emerson thing.
   "Case was in a car accident." Skylar chokes on his words. "It's pretty bad."
   "I'm on my way." Israel hangs up and runs up the stairs without taking off his other glove. Kent and Rhyannon are laughing together in the den and Israel stumbles to put on his all black converse. "Case was in an accident. I'm going to the hospital."
   "Is he okay?" Rhyannon gets up from the couch.
   "I don't know." Israel runs out the front door without another minute to waste.
   Brooklyn gets up from Lincoln's bed that same night. He's sound asleep and as much as she would like to stay here and sleep with him the whole night, she knows she'll be more comfortable at her own house. Brooklyn's feet reach the floor and she bends down to pick up her cane. She gasps when she slowly slides off the edge of the bed and onto the floor. Brooklyn expects her to tumble to the tiled ground but then she realizes she's standing, with both feet and legs. "What the hell?" Brooklyn looks down at her legs, scared that they're not her own. She almost goes to wake Lincoln up but she decides against it.
   Brooklyn holds her breath, taking a step forward. "Oh my God." Tears form in her eyes as she takes another step. It's almost like being in that anti gravity room except this is far more real. She's actually walking without her cane. Something must have happened during the surgery. She can walk again.
   Meanwhile, Cambridge leaves his bathroom with a white towel wrapped around his waist. He makes his way into his bedroom, expecting his phone to be empty of messages except maybe one from Tabby. The two of them have been a little rocky since the record label ordeal. He feels like Tabby should have more respect for herself and even though she quit the label, doesn't mean she has more respect. He told her that maybe it's best if they take a small break from the romance stuff. So that's where they are now.
   Cambridge's brow furrows when he notices ten missed calls from Taylor, his ex. He drops his phone back onto his bed, not bothering to call back or listen to her voice mails. She probably got wind about Cambridge and Tabby being broken up and is trying to make her entrance back into Cambridge's life. He's not about to go down that path again though.
~~~(END SONG)~~~

   The following morning, Kai sits at the large dining room table in the Crawford mansion, cutting into the french toast that their maid prepared for him, Emlyn, and Emlyn's mom and dad. They finally came around to the idea that their son will be dating an Evans and he's happy to see them at least making an effort. Harrow told him that he paid the family a visit and kind of told them off about how they're not the same person and they shouldn't blame Kai for what Harrow did. Kai is just happy to have things be calm for once.
   "So, Kai." Mr. Crawford speaks up from the head of the table as his wife sits across from him at the other end. "What's your favorite subject in school?"
   "I love journalism." Kai answers, making sure his mouth is clear of food.
   "Do you hope to become one after high school?" Mrs. Crawford sips her orange juice from her wine glass.
   Kai nods his head. "That's the goal."
   "Did your old teacher influence you on the choice or is that something you've always wanted to do?" Mr. Crawford snaps a crispy slice of bacon in half.
   Kai wonders which teacher they're talking about but decides not to ask. Kai's past with both of his journalism teachers aren't the best so it's probably not a good idea to bring either one of them up. "I've always enjoyed writing."
   "Well I look forward to reading some of your work." Mrs. Crawford flashes him a warm smile, her pink lipstick not even smeared from eating and drinking.
   "He'll be writing for the Beverly Hills Magazine in no time." Emlyn grins at Kai from next to him.
   "I have to ask a question and I hope you don't get too offended or anything." Mr. Crawford looks right at Kai, making his heart sink.
   Kai shakes his head, suddenly nervous. "Shoot."
   "Do you plan on having an intimate relationship with your college teacher?" Mr. Crawford tilts his head. Kai's eyes widen and he gently puts down his fork. He didn't think the question would be this deep of one. Why is he bringing up Aaron? That happened last year. Shouldn't that stay in the past? It's not really effecting anything now.
   "Dad." Emlyn hisses to his dad.
   "What?" Mr. Crawford shrugs at his son and then looks back at Kai. "You didn't answer the question."
   "I do not plan on having any relationship with anyone except for your son." Kai answers after thinking about it for a minute. He feels somewhat attacked. "Emlyn is the only one that I want to be with."
   "Told you we had nothing to worry about." Mrs. Crawford tells her husband.
   "I hope you don't mind me asking." Mr. Crawford tells Kai. "It's just as parents, we're a little curious."
   "I understand." Kai quickly nods his head, eager for someone to change the subject. It's no surprise that Emlyn's parents know what happened between Kai and Aaron. Someone would have to live under a rock to not know what happened. The silence hangs in the air and Kai clears his throat, his only objective is to change the subject. "The french toast is awesome."
