I came home from work completely exhausted and wanted to do nothing more than go to bed. My boyfriend Shawn was over at a friends and told told me he wasn't going to be late but I was hoping he would have been here by now.

Tomorrow was Valentine's Day and I already had his present ready for him. I got us tickets to go to a Safari tour at the local zoo and the best part being we are going to go up close with the elephants and then later have lunch at one of his favorite restaurant.

I went straight to bed not sure how much longer I would be able to stay awake waiting on him to get home.

I woke up the next morning to still be alone and Shawn wasn't anywhere in the apartment. I check my phone only to see a message from my friend asking if she could come over which of course I said yes to having no idea where Shawn was at the moment.

I got dressed sitting in the living room eating my breakfast. I tried calling Shawn twice now only for him to not answer me. Moments later heard a knock at the door and ran over opening it to see my friend, Maggie standing there with a warm smile on her face.

"hey" I said as she came inside and we both took a sit on the couch.

"Have you heard from Shawn at all today? It is Valentine's Day." She asked in a low voice

"Unfortunately I haven't, which is unlike him." I said biting down on my bottom lip nervously.

"There's something I need to tell you. I know where he is?" She said not really looking at me

"Where is he?" I asked turning to face her

"I was there when him and some of the other guys were drinking last night. Shawn and I  had left together. He didn't want to come home and for you to see him as drunk as he was so he asked if he could stay the night at my place. I figured was fine. We got back and stayed in the living room. You're going to hate me after this but we ended up kissing and then one thing lead to another. Y/N I'm so sorry I never meant for it to happen." She told me as I could feel my heart breaking as I looked at her in anger

"Maggie are fucking serious right now! You're my best friend! How could you do this?" I yelled at her

"y/n I didn't mean to. I really didn't. It just happened." She said as I stood up balling my hand into fist

"Stuff like that doesn't just happen! You don't just have sex with your best friend boyfriend! Get out of my apartment! I don't want to ever talk to you again!" I yelled again

"Y/N please" She said trying to come closer to me

"I said get out!" I told her having my back towards her.

I couldn't understand why she would do.

Of all the people she could have slept with my boyfriend

I've been laying in bed trying not to cry all day but I couldn't help it. Shawn tried calling but I didn't answer any of his calls. I knew he was going to be coming by soon and I didn't want to be here.

I started to pack a bag of clothes to stay the night at my friend Alexis house for a few days not wanting to here. I grab my stuff setting it in the living room when the front door starts to open as Shawn ran in stopping in his tracks when he sees me.

My body freezes for a moment until he tries to come closer to me as back away from him.

"y/n, let me explain please." He said as body hit the wall as he stood right in front of me leaving me no where to go.

"What could you possibly say to fix this?" I told him a low voice

"I know there's nothing I could say to make it better but I didn't mean to hurt you." He told me trying to lift up my head to look at him only to see my eyes full of tears

"Well you did. Why my best friend? Why her?" I asked with tears running down my face not wiping them away

"I don't know" he told me

"My minds made up Shawn and happy valentines day." I said grabbing all my stuff the leaving the apartment.
