Hey, so, this chapter is gonna explain a little bit more about werewolves and mates.

I chose this song because it was the only one I could think of when I thought of sleepovers 😂

On the way to my house, the girls and I stopped by the store and bought some snacks and (non-alcoholic) drinks for the night.

All of us then sat down on my bedroom. Lydia and I were on my bed, Kira was on my chair and Kat on the love sack. And we all just talked randomly for a few hours, before I couldn't handle my curiosity anymore.

"Okay, so I can't take this anymore, are you ready for my questions?" I asked knowing I would ask interdependently of their answer.
"Go ahead, we know your head must be exploding" Kira laughed a little.
"Alright, tell me about mates, what do I still don't know and should definitely know in order to not screw up or freak out?"
"Uh, I think we can explain the matting process" Kat said after thinking a little. I just nodded my head.
"So, part of the matting process is making love to your mate and, most of the times, the second part, which is the marking, is made during the first part, but it totally depends on what the couple decides. Marking can come first, during or after, but eventually has to happen or else they wont be completely connected." Lydia explained
"But your case in specific is different, since Colby is an alpha. All what Lydia said happens, but your marking will occur during the Luna ceremony, that is in front of the whole pack" Kat added.
"I'm gonna have to move to LA?"
"Yes, mates can't stay away for too long once they've found each other, or else they'll start to go insane after the fifth month" Kira explained.
"What happens if your mate die?" I didn't even want to think of how it would feel like if anything happened to Colby, so instead I grabbed the doritos and started to eat it.
"Is rare to find some one who survives for long, but if they do survive, they either go insane or close themselves from the world. Of course every case is different especially if they already have pups, but these are in general what happens." Lydia said, grabbing the M&Ms.
"What are the effects of having a mate?"
"There is this thing called the mate bond. The bond allows you to feel your mates emotions if both are relaxed, and the best trait is that you can feel it if one of you are in pain. You can also talk through mind link, but that is something you can do with any wolf of your pack." Kira told me.
"There is this other thing you should know about..." Kat hesitated "its called heat."
"Heat is what a female wolf goes through after the third week of meeting her mate. It only happens if the couple didn't complete the mating bond, and it is kind of awful. For three days, the female will feel pain, a lot of it, unless her mate is with her, and she is also horny all the time. But to make it also bad for her mate, she will exhale a really strong irresistible scent that will drive him crazy in need for her." Lydia finished.
"Well, that does not sound really appealing" I shivered eating another doritos.
"It's not, believe me." Kira said.
"WHAT?" I asked, I had even forgotten that Kira has a boyfriend,

He is the kind of new kid. Is a complicated story. He was her bully when we were younger, always messing with her. One day, when we were 12, he moved away and came back a few months ago. In the beginning, she simply avoided him, would run if saw him coming, and even skip school (of course me and Lydia would go with her). Then, not long ago, they started to get along suddenly and got officially together a few days ago.

"Oh wow,so you and Scott huh, if you think about your past for a little bit, it kind of would make an awesome love story don't you think?" I laughed at her face then continued to let my imagination run with questions. "So, what about your fur? Does the color means anything?"
"Yeah" Kira said, shaking her embarrassment away "It is different for man and woman tho. For guys, the darker the fur the stronger they are, and woman is completely the opposite. The lighter the fur the stronger they are. Alpha Cole is one of the most powerful alphas on the world. But a pure white female has not appeared in our generation yet. The last one was from a pack in France, but she was declared dead after an encounter with rouges, which doesn't make sense at all but who are we to say otherwise."
"On our pack, there is a female with grey really light fur. She is one of our strongest warriors. But she doesn't deserve all that strength, especially since she is a bitch. She is always trying to make Colby go to bed with her, but he refuses to be unfaithful to his future mate." Kat said proudly.
"Hold on a second, Colby is a virgin?" I asked not believing it.
"Yes, aren't you?" She asked.
"Oh yes, I am, I just find it hard to believe seeing as he is the most handsome guy I've ever laid eyes on"
"It isn't because of lack of opportunity, he always just wanted to wait for his true soulmate."

I can't believe how cute mate is! He even waited for us. What i learned to be my wolf said.

This time, I didn't feel the headache, just a sudden wave of tiredness.

"Oh my Goddess A, your eyes!" Kira exclaimed
"What about them?" I said, turning my head to look in the mirror and seeing them their usual green.
"They turned red for a second, did your wolf contacted you again?" Kat asked in shock.
"I-I think it did"
"I can't believe your eyes are red!" Lydia said now, still a little bit shaken.
"Why? Colby's were too." I reasoned.
"That is exactly the point. A werewolves eyes are another way to show power without having to shift." Lydia said.
" If your eyes are green, you're not very powerful. If they are yellow, you have a little bit more of it. If they are blue, you better not mess with them. But if they are red, I wouldn't dare to even say a negative word next to them, and that is pretty rare. Not even all alphas have red eyes, most of them have blue eyes." Kat explained it further to me.
"What about the girl in your pack, what color are her eyes?"
"They are red, but so are yours AND you're the luna, so you are obviously the one who holds more power." Kat smirked.

It is obvious! We are stronger then anyone, we wont let any slut near our man. Mate is OURS!

This time, after she finished talking, I just could barely keep my eyes open, like if all my energy had been sucked out of me with a straw.

"I'm too tired to ask anything else." I stated already getting the food out of my bed.
"Your wolf must be using your energy to try and come out. Let's sleep now, and if you have more questions tomorrow, feel free to ask babes" Lydia Said, making me lay under my covers.

We all went to sleep then. At least I think they did too, I blacked out as soon as my head hit the pillow.
