You dived into my waters
and kept swimming deeper.
no matter how dark the depth became
you didn't swim for the shallow end. You danced in my rain.
My past you welcomed with a kiss
where those before you turned away and hissed.
the broken parts of me you embraced.
your hands held me together while our fingers interlaced.
My body you adored as you traced it lightly,
your skin on my skin felt stronger than electricity.
you have become a permanent occupant in my thoughts,
accepted me in all my broken glory- remained against all odds.
you proved that love is everything but cruel
and beware anyone who made me feel like a fool.
you gave a subtle edge to the meaning 'alive'.
in your arms is where my soul best thrived.
a love so great it would put all of heaven to shame.
you bring ease to my soul full of years of pain.
