Friday of the next week rolled around, and I felt like shit to put it nicely. I saw Zagan once a day only. We slept in the same bed, but I had never felt this distant from him before.

The report Friday night was just salt in the wound. "So, Lady Taylor, any new dates to talk about." Conner Stoll shot a smile at the camera before giving his full attention to Taylor.

"Actually, yesterday Prince Zagan took me out to the gardens around lunch time, and we had a nice walk. He picked one of the flowers and gave it to me before we ate like a five course meal. It was amazing," Taylor gushed causing my stomach to twist in knots.

"That's lovely. What was your favorite food?"

"Oh, I loved the cheesecake for dessert. It was definitely a great end to a great date."

Conner turned to Zagan, "Didn't know you were such a foodie."

Zagan shrugged with a light smile on his face which just made me feel worse as Brittney took Taylor's spot. She talked all about her date she went on Monday where they went shopping in town.

"Lady Angel, how about you?"

Angel shifted just a little, "Well, on Wednesday, Prince Zagan went on a movie date with me. We marathoned a movie series while eating popcorn."

"Lady Rachel, any great dates for you?"

"Absolutely. He's such a romantic. On Tuesday he took me horseback riding to the lake nearby, and we spent a lovely afternoon there." Rachel looked smug as she talked, and I didn't miss her look at me.

Conner called my name and time seemed to slow. My stomach twisted, and I wouldn't have been surprised if I threw up. "So, first things first, happy belated birthday."

"Thanks so much," I said on instinct, blushing a little when I realized I had just cut him off.

He moved on quite quickly though, saving me the embarrassment of having to apologize. "Well, did you get a date?"

I paused, "Um..actually Prince Zagan and I haven't gotten the chance to spend time together since last Friday." I frowned at the end for a split second before covering myself, "But I'm sure that is because he wanted to make up for spending so much time with me during my recovery, which I am still so thankful for."

Conner seemed to realize how downhill this was going as he said goodnight about three minutes early. I left as quickly as possible not wanting to face the other girls, or worse, Chiron. He'd be down to talk to me. I'd just screwed up on a report for the first time in a while. I hadn't even been this bad after Jasper.

I made it to my room and decided a shower might be nice. As I showered, I thought through everything that had happened in the last few weeks that would have made him so distant. I couldn't think of anything, but I still felt like this was somehow my fault. Why else would he not be talking to me.

The water rushed over my body, but I didn't actually feel like getting clean. I got out as the water went cold and changed into my dads hoodie and leggings. I couldn't help but wish he was here. Him and my brother. My whole family even. Bianca would have worked too.

I tried to sleep. I was meant to be in Zagan's room. I knew I was. He had written a note this morning telling me he'd be there, yet I couldn't force myself to go.

Yet as I laid there getting no sleep, I realized there was no way I could go the night without him. I sighed, slipped on a pair of slippers and made my way upstairs.

It was deadly silent in the castle at this time of night. I looked both ways upstairs before slipping into Zagan's room. He was laying in bed, staring at the door and therefore now staring at me.
