Cheryl's POV

~a few hours later~

I was ready and waiting for people to arrive. It was still about twenty minutes until I asked them to come over, so I wasn't expecting anyone yet. Just as I thought that, the door bell rang. The door opened and I heard some indistinct voices talking.

"Cheryl dear! Your friend is here!" Freya yelled up the stairs.

"Okay mom. Send her up!" I shouted back down. Footsteps approached my door.

"Hey, Bombshell." Toni anounced her presence. She looked gorgeous. Why does she always look gorgeous? It's not fair. She be giving me heart attacks on the daily if she constantly be looking like that. I literally can't breath. I actually hate myself oh my god. Can't I just see her without freaking out for once?

"Hi, TT. You're early." I said.

"I am...Is that bad?"

"No...no. I was just waiting around for you guys anyway." I added on. "I've got all of the bedding and stuff ready. We can decide who sleeps where when everyone is here."

"Cool. Should I just dump my bags anywhere?" Toni asked and I nodded.

"Anyway, how's it been? Settled into your foster home yet?"

"Yeah, I would say I'm fully settled now. David and Eric are great...and so is Noah."

"Good. I'm glad. What do you wanna do until the other girls get here?" I said to Toni. My heart was beating fast. I swear I always get nervous when I see her. I wish I could just kiss her again.

"Pillow fight?" She answered.

"Oh my god...you are such a child!" I giggled. "But sure." We both picked up pillows and started running around like crazy.

Toni's POV

I collapsed onto Cheryl's bed. My breathing was heavy. Cheryl sat by her desk.

"That was fun." Cheryl looked at me.

"It was...felt like a twelve year old again." My phone buzzed. It was a message from Heather. I was surprised to see it. I opened the notification to reveal a large paragraph, so I started reading it.

Heather: Hey Toni. I wanted to ask you something and I couldn't wait until later to ask...so here it is. You are like the closest person to Cheryl, along with me, and I was just wondering if she has ever said anything much about me, in more than a friend kind of way? Not sure if that makes much sense but basically I'm wondering if she has ever told you that she likes me? It's just that I really like her and I wanted to know before hand. I plan on asking her out tonight. I want to take her to the movies or Pop's or something...so this would really be a huge confidence booster.

Tell her not to do it, Toni. You like Cheryl. Don't let Heather get in the way of that. But isn't that just selfish? What if Cheryl likes Heather? What kind of a friend would it make me if I denied Cheryl that kind of happiness? No. I have to be kind to Heather and give her good advice.

Toni: I can't tell you that she has said anything like that to me. But what I can tell you is that you should go for it. It's better to ask her and to know what'll happen than to spend your life wondering what could've happened if you had just asked her a simple question. What've you got to lose?

All of the words I said to Heather also applied to me. Only it was too late for me now. I couldn't go acting on my feelings when I had just told Heather to act on hers. If I did, it would destroy so many amazing friendships. Instead, I have to sit back and watch as their relationship blossoms into something that I wish I had.

Heather: Thanks Toni. That really did make me feel more confident. Wish me luck!

"Anything importnant?" Cheryl asked as I blackened the screen of my phone.

"Not really...no." I answered.

Cheryl's POV

~about 20 minutes later~

The door bell rang again. Toni and I both ran down the stairs and managed to catch it before Freya this time. I opened it to see Heather.

"Hi Heather. Come on in." My breathing was heavy because I was a bit out of breath from chasing Toni around my room with the pillow. My phone buzzed. Veronica had text me that her and Betty were running a little late.

"Veronica and Betty are running late, but I'm sure they won't be long. Heather, come dump your stuff in my room." As we ran back up the stairs and to my room, I looked at Toni and laughed because of the intense pillow fight we had had, not too long ago. We all hung out in my room for a while.

"I'm gonna go to the toilet real quick. Don't spill any tea whilst I'm gone." Toni walked out. I could hear Heather sighing loudly. She seemed nervous.

"What's wrong?" I faced her.

"Nothing...it's just...I wanted to ask you something."

"Go for it."

"Okay...so I really like you, Cheryl, and I was wondering...would you like to go out with sometime? Like on a proper date? Say tomorrow?" I felt bad about what I had to say to Heather, but I knew that I had to do it. I just had to be nice about it.

"Look, Heather, you are an incredible friend and an amazing person..." I put my hand to her shoulder "and I am sorry but I only see you as a friend."

"Oh..."

"I'm sorry." I apologized again. I could see that she was devastated, but it had to be done. It had to be said.

"No it's okay. There was no harm in trying. I'm sad but I'll get over it." I could see the sadness in her eyes. I hated that I had caused it.

~after they all arrived and later at night~

Everybody had chosen where they were going to sleep for the night. We were all in our pj's and we sat in a circle at the end of my bed, awaiting the beginning of our first game

"Let's start the game of truth or dare!" Veronica exclaimed with excitment.

"Dun dun dun...who's first?" Toni added dramatic effect to what she was saying. I found it kind of funny.

"I'll start...let's go in a circle." Betty said. She began giggling. "Cheryl...truth or dare?"

"Dare."

"Okay, I'll start off with a classic dare but also simple...I dare you to kiss Heather for five seconds." Why does it have to be that? I literally rejected Heather like a couple hours ago? I wish she had said Toni...if only. I couldn't back out of the dare. I wasn't going to back out on the first round. I knew this was going to be weird for Heather, but I didn't want to make the situation awkward by refusing the dare. Everyone would ask why I didn't do it, and two seconds later I would be telling everyone about the conversation from earlier. But kissing Heather would probably ruin my chances with Toni, not that I actually have any...but still...I still remember when I kissed her. Does she remember? Nope. Don't think about it.

Authors note: Be sure to head on to the next chapter! Sorry they are up so late (at least it's late for me). I'm most likely gonna post two more tomorrow. Hopefully they'll go up but I have school work to do so don't bank on it.
