Cheryl's POV

As the car drove off I looked through the window at Toni. I didn't move my eyes until she was out of sight. I then turned to face the road ahead and grabbed JJ. I locked my arms around him tighter than I ever had before. I wanted to cry of sadness but also of excitement. I was starting a new life somewhere else, but it was going to be without Toni...at least for a while. I know I'm going to see her again, no matter what. I don't care what it takes. I'll find her. I'm just glad I took the leap and kissed her. It's a relief to have let it out. The only problem is I likely left her confused because I didn't get to explain myself. I didn't want to make Mark and Freya wait too long.

"You okay back there, Cheryl?" Freya asked.

"Yeah. Fine." I said. I couldn't tell if I was lying or not. I was fine, but I was also sad. There were so many emotions flowing through my body and it made me confused. I need Toni, but she's not here. She would be able to comfort me. She was always good at that. Just hugging her made me feel more at ease. Just my luck. The girl I like is a mile behind me and I might not see her for a while.

"I'm guessing you got whatever it was that you forgot." Mark stated.

"Yes I did. It was a thing for my teddy, JJ." I lied to them. I couldn't tell them the truth yet.

The drive was kind of long. When we arrived at my new home, I was shocked. It was a huge and beautiful house. I was looking forward to going inside and exploring the place.

"Welcome to Riverdale." Mark smiled as he closed the trunk of his car once he had grabbed my things out of it. We all walked into the house and I was surprised by how nice it was. I must admit that I wasn't expecting anything like it. I don't know why but I wasn't. Honestly, I'm not sure what I was expecting.

"Let us show you to your room." Freya smiled as she guided me. I followed her to a door and she opened it. "I know it's pretty plain right now but we wanted you to pick what you have in here and what colour the walls are." Freya continued.

"Thank you." I said. I liked that they had left me the freedom to decorate it. I hadn't had this kind of thing in forever. I was already picturing it in my mind...my perfet bedroom. The only thing in it so far was a desk and a bed.

"You're welcome to change what's already here. We can go and buy things for your room tomorrow." Mark offered.

"Thanks. Is it okay if I just sit down and draw? Have you got any pencils I could use, please?" I mumbled. Freya then rushed out of the room, but soon re-appeared with pens, pencils and paper. She handed it to me and I thanked her. I sat at the desk and began drawing the first thing that came to my mind. It soon became an empty room, only me and my thoughts left in it. No other people were around.

Once I finished my drawing, I stared at it. It was of me and Toni, when we used to sit by a tree and look at the clouds and the stars. It sent me on a journey through my memories, to a day that my feelings for Toni grew ever stronger than I thought possible.

~Cheryl's memory~

Toni and I were laying down on the floor, by our usual tree, hidden away slightly from the nuns. It was quite peaceful. Most kids went inside when it started getting dark, but because we were some of the older ones we were still allowed outside.

I looked over at Toni. Her beauty made my heart melt every single time I stole a look.

"Staring are you now, Cherry?" Toni chuckled.

"The only staring I'm doing is at the stars." I exclaimed, making my comeback.

"Nah...it's okay...I don't blame you. I'm very pretty." Toni said, with a cheeky tone to her voice.

"You are." I said, feeling my cheeks heating up, unable to stop myself.

"Why thank you. You are too." My cheeks were on fire at this point, and so I angled my body away from her so she couldn't see me. We cuddled up together and I put my head on her shoulder. There was something about being with Toni that made me feel so calm and relaxed. We sat there, gazing at the sky for a few minutes.

"The stars are really beautiful tonight." I said, breaking the peaceful silence.

"Not as beautiful as you." Said Toni. I could tell she was saying it in a friendly way, but also doing what I had done just a couple of minutes before. Even though I knew she didn't mean it that way, it still made my heart dance.

"That's true." I joked, deciding to take my turn in playing with my friend and she gently pushed me off of her shoulder. We both looked at each other and giggled uncontrollably.
