School Day

"So what are you going to do for Halloween?" Emily asked. "I have to go trick or treating with Johnny," Breanna said. "I'm going to Derek's Halloween party,remember sis?" Michael said. He looked at his sister with a grin spread across his face. "Oh right!" his twin sister said. She laughed. "That's right! Mom said I could come with you to there!" "Really?" Breanna's eyes widened in disbelief. "Yep!"
"But, I thought mom grounded you!" Michael exclaimed. "She gave me a pass." Emily smiled. "Well, just for the party." "So," Michael looked at Breanna, "how's Johnny doing?" "He's doing good! His grades are improving and he shows a bit more respect now." "Cool!"

The trio continued down the hall, going past other students. They saw their friend, Mike Schmidt, going down the hallway as well. He looked stressed about something and was talking to himself. "What's wrong with Mike?" Breanna asked. "I don't know," Emily moaned, "he's been like that since first period. In Ms.Washington's class he was whispering something about 'not making it'." "He's been a bit nervous about something all last week actually," Michael said. "Maybe we should ask?" Breanna suggested. Emily and Michael was silent. "I'll go up to him and ask him what's wrong!" Breanna volunteered.

Breanna walked over to the lonely teenager, who was leaning on his locker, mumbling. "Hi, Mike!" She said when she got to him. He took a quick glance at her before saying 'hi' back. "So," she leaned next to him on the locker. Mike sighed. "So? What?" "What's wrong?" Breanna asked, "lots of people have noticed that you are upset. I just want to know what's wrong and how I can help." "You can't help." "Why not?" "It's about my job, I don't think I can handle it anymore." "Well, why don't you think you can handle it anymore?" Breanna asked. She noticed Emily and Michael was walking over to them. "It's to hard! My job is just to hard! I don't think I can survive another night!" he answered. "So that's what your problem is?" Emily said. She giggled. "How about being in my job for once. Mr.Mouse's kids are pretty much act like five hurricanes at once! Every single one of them!" "And my job at McDonalds isn't easy too," Michael said.

"How long have you worked at your job, Mike?" he asked him. "Tonight is my fifth night." "So your only on your first week and you already give up?!" Breanna was astonished. "Is it that hard?" "Heck yeah!" Mike said. "Well..." Breanna dug into her little purse until she took out five dollars. "Ice cream costs a dollar per cone right? Well I have five dollars here so lets go talk this over some ice cream. I'll pay."

The group arrived at the cafeteria and they walked over to the ice cream cart."Hello kids!" Mrs.Gayle said. "Hi Mrs.Gayle!" The kids said back. Then they ordered their ice cream. Breanna got cookies and cream, Emily got choclate fudge ice cream, Michael got rocky road ice cream and Mike got mint chocolate chip. They sat down at the table closest to the doors. As they discussed Mike's problem, their friend Keana Ackerman came to them. "Hi guys!" "Hi Keana," they replied. Keana pulled a chair up to their table and sat down with them. "How are you guys?" "Great," they all said."That's cool!" Keana said, "so Halloween is next week and how many of you are going to Derek's party?" Only Emily and Michael raised their hands. "So, I'll see you guys there. Ciao!" Keana left.

Soon the bell rang. "Well, time to go to Mrs.Walden's class," Michael said, "she hates it when people are late for class and today she's in a bad mood." Michael then left. "Same here but with Mr.Sponic," Emily said. She left too. Breanna smiled at Mike who was nervously getting up. "Thanks," he said, "you calmed me down a little." "No problem!" Breanna said, now...do you want to walk to Mrs.Gaston's room together?" Mike smiled.
