The next day Liz was still angry so she continued where she left off, only this time she hit Chara in the bathroom.

She did so , so that no-one would interrupt her like the previous day. Chara had no where to run she thought menacingly.

Liz showed no mercy , at first Chara had "cried "until she couldn't cry anymore. When she cried Liz would hit her more. It was like adding fuel to the fire.

Liz had just exploded on her daughter like a missile she was. She was chaos itself, Chara wondered why she was still being hit. Not that what she did was good but she was a young girl who had been starved.

Liz never questioned her daughter's actions all she knew was to give a good beating and downgrade her.

She was Chara's first heartbreak. Some often say that a man broke their heart but if we really check the first heartbreak was at home, either from abusive parents or absent parents.

Chara knew what pain was at such a tender age. At times she really wanted to retaliate but she was powerless to do so.

When she became angry over the injustice of it all her mother would tell her that she was inviting evil spirits into her life, the life of religious people.

Like I said before Liz was questionably religious. In the back of her mind Chara thought that  Liz isn't the one to be saying such things.

There was nothing that she could do because in African culture no one should bad mouth their mother or else they would be cursed.

People often spoke of the tells of people who had become crazy because of what they had done to their mother.

They would be found in the streets walking ,wearing sacks for clothes that was the distinction of what they had done.

That was the difference between a crazy or a homeless person.

Liz made sure to hit Chara with two of her selected belts. She had the crocodile skinned one today and an elephant one too. It's not like she would really hit with the flesh of the belt , but she would hit Chara with the metal part.

Chara was so tired that she was barely holding onto the sink whilst she was being whipped .

Liz only stopped at the sign of a nose bleed. That was how she relented.

She washed Chara and let her off to rest. She was a bit scared because of what she had done. She was relieved though that Phillip was away.

He would come back tonight by then she would make sure that Chara was sleeping.

Phillip came home  in the evening, he was so tired that he only wanted to sleep. He didn't have the energy to eat. Luckily he had eaten some few hours ago.

He would eat tomorrow so he went and slept. Today he had no strength to argue with his wife Liz. He only wanted to rest he really needed this.

The next day was a Sunday so everyone was going to church , Chara did not feel like it at all. Her mother gave  her a dress to wear.

Chara loathed dresses especially today where people could tell that she had been barbecued by her Mother.

She was extremely swollen that it was hard to sit in the car. She was so hesitant that when Liz shouted at her to sit she stood still in her paralysis at the door and didn't enter.

Liz shouted again and told her that she would hit her again that is when Phillip came and told Liz to stop threatening his daughter.

Chara entered the car and sat but she was in so much pain that she quietly sobbed.

She would wipe her tears so that Liz wouldn't see them.
