The Cosy Tea Shanty
The good ship PG Strainer,
Crew, the ancient container,
Was a wooden caddy boat
That was ordered out afloat
Upon the deep browny tea.
The passenger was Earl Grey
Who said that he knew the way
To the Sugar Cube Mountain,
Where there was a hot fountain
Of black Lapsang Souchong tea.
Captain Urn had a feeling
There he'd find his Darjeeling
And they'd infuse with style
On that green and blended isle
To raise a tot of leaf tea.
Sailing past the good hope cup
Wind stirred the beverage up.
Bag sharks circled in the brew
Steeping and making it stew,
Mashing the dregs of the tea.
Then hopes heaped high once more,
Insight was the Assam shore.
A land of Lemon and milk,
Of cakes and things of that ilk,
Where they partied on rich tea.
Leaving that Rosy Lee Bay
The isle they reached next day.
The sailor's danced with glee
Sugar Cube Mountain to see
And instantly drank coffee.
