3. The Secret Gift

Felix POV:

I watched as Marzia ran back to our room, her dark hair bouncing with each step. Once she was out of sight I dropped the dishes in the sink and ran to the living room.

I went straight for the couch and pulled off the cushions until I found what I was looking for. I grabbed the small, velvety, dark, blue box that was laying there. As I was about to open it, I heard Marzia calling me.

"Felix?" She seemed to be coming in my direction.

"Shit..." I whispered to myself. I threw the cushions back on the couch and shoved the box in my pocket so Marzia wouldn't see it. At this moment, my beautiful girlfriend walked into the room.

"Have you seen Maya's leash? I can't find it anywhere?"

As I shook my head she walked next to me, over to the couch and pulled the cushions off, checking to see if the leash was under the cushions.

'Thank god I got the box out of there before she saw it' I thought to myself.

Then Marzia seemed to notice the nervous look on my face. "Are you okay?" She looked up at me with worried eyes.

"What?...Yeah I'm fine" I said.

She continued looking at me as if something was wrong, but then decided to let it go. She left the room to continue looking for Maya's leash.

After she was gone, I reached into my back pocket and pulled out the box. I opened it and stared at the white diamond sitting on top of the golden ring. Just looking at it made me nervous. I thought about Marzia and how far we've come since we met for the first time three years ago. I thought about our first date, our first kiss...I remembered it all so well. I remember falling in love with her for the first time, then falling in love with her again and again everyday since we've been together. I love her so much, and I think she loves me too. But even though I know that I love and she seems to love me. I'm still afraid of what she will say when I ask her the question I've wanted to ask her since I first laid eyes on her.
